The David Citadel is beautiful. The staff were excellent and always took care of every need. In particular are waiters Samir and Atta we’re unbelievable. They knew what you wanted before you could even ask! I would highly recommend the David Citadel to any friends or family.

My family has stated many times at the Citadel. Its so nice coming back each time and the same staff members are still there. Manuel from Guest Relations greets us each time we arrive. There is always a welcome gift in our room. The breakfast is amazing and the same waiters have been serving us for over 20+ years. Said and Samer, both can't do enough to please you at breakfast. They know what you like and have it ready without asking. I feel so at home at this luxury hotel. For those of you that are considering "other luxury hotels in the area" remember the Citadel has been around a long time! When hotels were struggling this year through Corona, the Citadel always had staff members available 24 hours a day, other hotels closed their front desk during the night and let Security handle your needs - NOT THE CITADEL!!! Its a great place to spend your vacation in Jerusalem. Also you can't beet its location across the street from the Old City. Also has one of the nicest outdoor pools in Jerusalem. Looking forward to our next stay!!

Rooms are disappointingly small and furnishings dated. The TV screen looks like a computer monitor from 5 years ago. Place is well maintained but skeleton staff and a breakfast that used to be the pride of the hotel is now a poor man's meal. Hotel was deserted and had that depressing nobody-is-home vibe. It's post covid and tourism is bad, so why not open the nicer rooms for the few paying guests when prices are still pre-covid?

With Israel exiting Covid-19 lock down, we booked a 2 night stay over the weekend. Parking is under the hotel and the deal including free parking. There is no other parking in the area. Check-in was easy since the hotel had just reopened that day after being shut down for a number of months. We had the Alcove Deluxe room which was perfect. Slippers, robes, and all the other usual swag one would find in a 5 star hotel. The digital scale in the bathroom had a dead battery - something a 5 star hotel should check in every room. The minibar is the pressure sensitive kind which I dislike since it reflects a distrust for customers. The staff were all extremely helpful and happy to have clients once again. Breakfast was fine although they were already kosher for passover which meant no cakes and breads. They did have 2 types of smoked salmon which is always a good indicator. The meals were also all excellent, although at lunch on Shabbat they ran out of lamb shoulder very quickly which should never happen. All in all and excellent choice especially for the location which can't be beat.
