Detailed Reviews
Having a serious food allergy the executive chef prepared my wife’s meals individually so as not to cross contaminate her food with the allergy causing spices. This was key to out peace of mind and enjoyment of our stay. The hotel is located centrally with busses and a tram a short walk away. The room had air con, TV and safe. The room was serviced every day. The front of house staff were all very helpful where nothing was too much trouble. Would definitely use this hotel again.

The Ambassador hotel is conveniently located in Jerusalem and has clean and comfortable rooms. There is a wide selection for breakfast though I always wish I would get a bigger cup. I look forward to the complementary fruit platter and it makes me always feel truly welcome

This was my 3rd stay at the Ambassador, on this trip I ended up being in quarantine here during the first stages of the coronavirus. Our tour was here for 8 days. The staff was friendly and kind to all of us.
We were able to walk to the Old City of Jerusalem in 12 minutes easily since we couldn't ride the tour bus with less than 10 people.
Skip the olive wood stores and go to Victor at the Ambassador Gift and Souvenir Shop just outside the front door. His prices are good and the quality is better.

soundproofing is insufficient, all sounds are heard. on Saturday morning at 6 am, the cleaners are vacuuming. a very strong smell of food wafted up from the dining room to the second floor. the rooms seem to be about 100 years old, all dirty and dirty. the air conditioner creaks strongly, avoid this hotel. and very expensive

We stayed here for three nights in a row. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the breakfast is everything you want and more.
The rooms are spacious but the walls and door are very thin and unfortunately we had very loud neighbors. The bath was a both small and the water tap in the bath was a bit dirty. The WiFi in the room was terrible.
You could park the car outside in front of the hotel for free but it was crowded, so you don’t have space all the time.

Small room (smaller than pin pictures) but bed comfortable. TV Channel choice not great. Shower was in a bathtub - old room and needs refurbishing.
Room service was good and on time. AC worked well in the room.
Reception helpful and will call taxis for airport, local or for the border and the taxis they call offer reasonable prices.
Location was not bad - 10 min ride to old city or 25 min walk.
Breakfast ok with a selection of hot, cold and bakery items.
An old hotel which has probably seen better days but works for a few days stay as a base.

Only positive points to highlight, the decoration with tremendous good taste, very comfortable and clean, and the sympathy of all the workers, without exception. The rooms give us a privileged view of the city, and it is even possible to see the highest flag in the world located in the historic part of the city. Breakfast is very good and complete. And the best thing is that it is just a 10-minute drive from downtown. The perfect hotel to stay in the capital of Jordan.

We stayed here for 6 days at the end of January while teaching in Jerusalem. It was an excellent experience — comfortable rooms, pleasant staff, very good free breakfast, and good restaurant, all at a reasonable price. Also a couple of other good restaurants within 5-10 min walk and the amazing Old City of Jerusalem an easy 30 min walk.

This hotel is located far from restaurants and other attractions in Jerusalem. If you are worried about the dangers of Jerusalem, this is a safer place.
If you want to experience Jerusalem, this is a long walk to the old city. You *can* walk, but it will take a bit.
The food served at breakfast and dinner is ok; desserts are excellent. They serve food at the specified time and not a minute before. You cannot get a cup of coffee before the restaurant opens for breakfast.
The rooms are decent, but the beds are hard and the blanket is too small for the bed.
We stayed with a pilgrimage group and I am not sure this hotel accepts individuals or if it is group only.

I ordered a cake from the pastry shop in the hotel and Ibrahim (i forgot his last name), the manager of food and beverage really helped me and even delivered the cakes to the car. Always the best. And I also ran into chef Ashayer who cooked my wedding meals for my guests in 2021

Hi Barbara,
Greetings from the Ambassador Hotel Jerusalem,
Its a 15-20 minutes walking distance.
I did not use the mini-fridge and was not aware there was a shuttle. I brought home some dead sea toiletries and have yet to use them up. I especially like the dead sea soap that was in the room and brought a couple of bars home. I used the shampoo while at the hotel and it was great on my hair. There are quite a few things that can be visited nearby and are a short cab ride away. Traffic is intense, though, and traveling mid-morning or mid-afternoon is best. I was on a tour and we took a bus everywhere sometimes just to travel a few miles. The guide really made the visits meaningful with his commentary. If you want to go it alone, I would stay at a hotel like the Ambassador, which is reasonably priced, clean, well-staffed and near the old city and take one day bus tours to see the sites you are interested in. If you are visiting a museum such as the Isreali Museum, make it an all day event and take a cab. It was a $20 cab ride from the hotel. There is no need to book a taxi in advance but I would book the bus tours in advance.
Pretty sure, they have....
