Unfortunately the only thing remotely positive about this hotel that I can say is that the food was varied and edible. The individual rooms are small, dingy, outdated and join the entire hotel in needing immediate updating. Our stay lasted 4 nights The first room...More
Our tour group booked this hotel and the only reason I was forced to stay here is because they would not give me my money back. This is not my opinion, this is the facts: we arrived on Dec 24 in the evening. We waited...More

I'm not sure about their dinner package but if it is anything like the breakfast don't book the package (unless you're kosher and have a lot of money to spend) there is a grocery store behind the hotel as well as several restaurants. If you walk 10 minutes there is maheme yahuda for food or you can jump on the train behind the hotel to old city. There are plenty of easy and affordable dinner options.

Nothing is open on Friday evening until sundown, the following Saturday in Jerusalem. It is Shabbat. Well, almost nothing. You can google a list of restaurants and tourists sites open during those hours. At the Gold I think you can reserve the special Shabbat luncheon on Saturday. No vending machines at the Gold, no coffee or tea on Saturday.
