We were not staying at the hotel but we had afternoon tea there. The food was delicious and the ambience was very nice. We were asked to reserve a day in advance in order to prepare for our party of 3, although we still had waited for a while before the food arrived - I feel like we could have at least had tea while we waited for the food. Rozalia was great!

Spent 3 nights to celebrate a special anniversary . It was absolutely everything we’d hoped it would be . Service was amazing starting with Ron , who greeted us , brought us to our room , gave a history tour of this fascinating hotel , got us a cab etc . Breakfast must be eaten at the lush King David buffet ! Pool was magnificent, you truly felt whisked away to a lush tropical paradise . Room amenities were gracious … really a perfect experience . We WILL be back !

Hotel is amazing and historical, pool is incredible and the beds and room beautiful. I would stay away from Room service, go downstairs instead to Buffett for breakfast, food was cold, coffee was cold and everything was forgotten each time, food was awful and unappetizing from room service. Restaurant food was good but very limited choices for people whom do not eat fish or meat and staff was superb at reception..

We recently made a reservation for afternoon tea at King David Hotel, anticipating a delightful experience given its supposed five-star status. However, we were met with unexpected disrespect from the hotel staff. Instead of seating us in the main area, we were inexplicably directed to an isolated room, completely devoid of ambiance or other guests. Despite our inquiries, no rationale was given for this unusual treatment. To the management: A mere acknowledgement stating appreciation for our feedback will feel as dismissive as our actual experience. Such incidents should not transpire in a reputed five-star hotel. For fellow travelers considering this venue: I'd recommend the Waldorf Astoria over this establishment. They seem to genuinely value their guests.

Fantastic hotel unbelievable service. Friendly accommodating English, speaking staff. Great location to the Old City. We upgraded to a room with the large balcony on the pool great view of sunrise over the old city. Walking distance to many great restaurants.I would have given five stars but the rooms are a little dated and the bed was a little on the hard side just a personal choice though. The Saturday morning Buffet breakfast was a treat coming from America not used to anything like that so it was a great experience. although I didn’t use the pool, we did walk by and it was excellent.

We stayed there twice-once in August and once in September. My wife, my family and I have been coming to the King David on a regular basis for well over 20 years now. Every time we come, we feel as if we are home. Of course the hotel itself is magnificent in every regard, but it is the staff that truly makes us feel special each and every time we come. The dining room waiters and staff are always extremely friendly and welcoming. The entire front desk team is always welcoming and makes us feel like we are home. Special shout out to Karawe, at the front desk. Also, I would like to commend the terrace restaurant staff - Ido the Chef, Chris, the Maitre d, as well as Elisheva, Safuri, Rahaf, and Lina. I was upgraded to my usual room, a garden terrace room overlooking the old city. The view is breathtaking from our balcony. But the real star of the King David is the Concierge, Jeremy Weiss. Everyday he helped us out with tour reservations, restaurant recommendations, as well as making reservations for us. There wasn't anything that we needed that he could not do. Most importantly, one day I left my iphone in a taxi cab. As I had used Gett (Taxi App in Israel), Jeremy immediately contacted Gett customer service, obtained the cell number of the driver, and arranged to have my phone brought back to the hotel. Jeremy is truly a gem at the King David Hotel, and I applaud him! We already miss Jerusalem, and the King David, and cannot wait to return!

This review is for the hotel's restaurant, The Grill Room, considered one of Jerusalem's premiere dining establishments . Much about our evening there was quite positive, but our experience was diminished by negative elements. On the positive side, the wait staff was attentive, patient and knowledgeable; the first courses and deserts lived up to our expectations. The main courses which we ordered seemed to come from a different restaurant - two fish dishes which were severely overcooked and underseasoned, much of which we left on our plates and certainly not worth the hefty tariffs. They did not have the one option which we both wanted. In all fairness, others at our table were much more satisfied with different dishes. One more word about ambience, this restaurant has very limited lighting, to the extent that we could only read the menus with the flashlight from our cell phones. Not on our list to return.

This us my third visit to the hotel snd it was fabulous. The room on the 5th floor with magnificent view, was very comfortable. Coffee maker and kettle included together with mineral water supply. The entire hotel has a a very unique design - classic yet oriental. Pool is one of the best! Serene clean and the water are just at the right temperature. Service very good. We just returned home from a 7-night stay at the King David Hotel. Wow! It was awesome. It's a historic hotel with a stately, old world, classic feel the minute you enter the front door. The lobby is gorgeous, the pool and outdoor area is stunning and everyone was friendly and lovely. The location was ideal. You can walk to the Mamilla shopping center (lots of stores and restaurants), walk to the old city through the Jaffa Gate, walk to First Station (restaurants and shops in a repurposed old railway station) and many other restaurants in both directions out the front door. We booked the king room with old city view and it did not disappoint. Honestly the photos don't do it justice at all. The view was much more breathtaking than it appears in my pics. I definitely think it's worth the extra money. We had the buffet breakfast included each morning and it was wonderful. There are so many interesting and delicious local foods, and they'll also do eggs to order if you want an omelet, etc. You'll find that they eat things for breakfast that American wouldn't necessarily think of as breakfast food (like Israeli salad, which is tomatoes and cucumbers chopped up) but somehow I got addicted to eating salad for breakfast. The dates, figs and halvah were all amazing. There's smoked salmon, herring, homemade granola, fresh yogurt, house made croissants (regular and chocolate), chocolate babka, basque cheesecake and so much more. The service was also great. We had the same waiter, Karim, just about every day and he became like a friend to us. He knew what we wanted as soon as we sat down. The bed was great, nice bed sheets and duvet blanket. There's a Nespresso machine with original pods in the room as well as an electric hot water kettle and tea bags. They provide bottled water every day in the room and a few complimentary sodas on the mini fridge. Housekeeping was friendly and they did a great job keeping our room clean and providing everything we needed. The only area for constructive criticism would be the room service. On our first night we tried to order a grilled cheese sandwich from the room service menu on our desk but we we were told that the menu had changed although they hadn't updated the menus in the rooms yet and that they no longer had grilled cheese sandwiches. (Kind of strange since it's pretty easy to whip up a grilled cheese sandwich.) We went ahead and ordered something else instead. Then on our last night we tried to order two burgers and we were told there were no burgers because the restaurant/kitchen that makes them was already closed. It wasn't even 8pm yet on a Tuesday night. Seemed like a burger should be a pretty basic item to be able to provide. Anyway, I asked if they had grilled cheese sandwiches instead and he said yes! Something's clearly a little off with room service. The man on the phone (possibly the same man both times) was not friendly or accommodating at all. He was the only staff member during our entire stay who was anything other than lovely, so this is a relatively minor complaint. Just wanted to make the hotel aware. I would wholeheartedly recommend the King David and would definitely stay here again if we are fortunate enough to return to Israel someday.
