Just returned from my 13th visit to the superb Waldorf Astoria Jerusalem. Special thanks to Ihab from the front office who was very courteous and extremely helpful. Thanks to other staff from the front desk: Mohammed, Paulo, Assem and Karim.

David, from the Waldorf Astoria Jerusalem Security team, always with a nice smile and ready to help in any way possible. And a nice welcome at the hotel entrance by Ghoul and Neuber.

Special mention to Maamoon and Fuad, the 2 professional Maitre d’hotel who continuously welcomed me with a warm smile and constantly went beyond to cater to all of my requests. And thanks to Hassan for assisting with my custom requests. And thank you Ira from the Dining room and thanks to Lila for the exceptional in-room dining service.

It is always exciting to see the new foods added to the extraordinary Waldorf Astoria Jerusalem breakfast. New long baguette rolls. The tasty Matjes herring. And a yummy new croissant with an almond cream filling and crushed pistachios on top of the croissant. Mouth-watering breakfast.

Waldorf Astoria Jerusalem. The Dream Hotel of the Middle East.

We just returned home from our vacation in Israel and I cannot say enough things about the Waldorf Astoria in Jerusalem. The hotel’s facilities, as well as the treatment the guests receive, are second to none. It began at check-in when were told that we had been upgraded to deluxe rooms (two attached rooms on the 6th floor) without even requesting an upgrade. The perks of being Hilton Gold, I guess. We had come to Israel to celebrate our daughter’s at mitzvah which I guess I had mentioned at check-in because a short time later two staff members surprised her at our room with a birthday cake, sodas and a gift (a very cute pink Waldorf Jerusalem knapsack). They even gave me and my wife a bottle of champagne. It’s a Waldorf property so obviously the rooms were stunning (chandeliers, couches, a television inside the bathroom mirror, etc…). The staff was exceptional. Mr. Jundich Faud, the breakfast supervisor, went above and beyond every morning as did the waiters like Marc who constantly checked to make sure we had everything we wanted. If you’re Hilton Gold you have the added bonus of being seated in a side room where a waiter stands near the table to get you anything you may want. It happened to be that the traffic situation in Jerusalem the week we were there was a mess due to over 45 world leaders coming to town for a ceremony commemorating the liberation of Auschwitz. Even though the Waldorf sat in the middle of the street closures and it was housing several of the dignitaries and hosting one of the events, the hotel took measures to make sure the guests weren’t inconvenienced by the extra security (the street closures caused problems returning to the hotel one evening but the hotel concierge stayed on the phone with us trying to guide us to a nearby parking lot unaffected by the security). In summary, I cannot recommend this hotel enough and I can’t wait to return on our next visit to Jerusalem.

This was our first fine dining experience in Israel. The quality was extremely good and the service was mediocre.

We ate in the “meat” restaurant at the hotel so all entrée choices were meat.

Of course everything was kosher, and most if not all of the wines on the wine list were from Israel.

Dear Bob G, Thank you for sharing your experience. I'm pleased you enjoyed it overall, though I do regret you found service less than perfect. Indeed we are a strictly kosher property; there are excellent non-kosher fine dining options conveniently located in the near area, our Concierge are delighted to assist with reservations. We would love to host you again for an altogether wonderful experience in Jerusalem. Kind regards, Avner On General Manager

If you are counting on a lounge for Hilton Gold and Platinum this is not the place for You. Coffee and light meals which would be lounge offerings are expensive
In addition if you book more than 3 nights through FHR American Express , even , if upgrade is available you won't get it without paying . AT least that is how it was explained to me by my personal concierge. I have yet to verify that with American Express
On the upside the room we paid for is ,what we got and it was nice
The food although expensive was delicious and the location is Excellent
The minuses are No lounge
No real gym, only a few treadmills in converted guest room, no spa
It is a nice hotel but not quite a Waldorf
There is supposed to be a spa and gym eventually

If you ever wondered what it would be like to be treated like royalty step politely into the Waldorf Astoria of Jerusalem.

My wife and I were celebrating a milestone anniversary. Gladis in Reservations became earnestly involved and used the full measure of her professionalism and sensitivity to prepare a truly unforgettable experience. As Gold members we were afforded an upgrade. Wine and glasses were waiting for us in the beautiful and well-appointed room.

That week, several hotels in Jerusalem were hosting over forty world leaders for an unusual commemoration. Gladis found the time to care about us as guests, and our reservation.

The professional service of the breakfast staff was unfailing. Shout out to Dov who remembered the precise way I enjoy my coffee at the sumptuous, morning feast.

Waiters and waitresses came quickly, eager to satisfy our particular requests. All was done with a smile and courteous manner.

Errors:
A dress shirt sent to laundry was lost. Amir at reception went out of his way for two days to locate the garment. Also, a vessel to prepare hot water for Sabbath never arrived.

If you are a Sabbath observer, you will find the Waldorf enjoys a genuine Oneg Shabbat atmosphere. There were also different services available during morning Tefilla for Ashkenazi and Sephardic rites.

We greatly look forward to our next visit. We thank each and every one of the staff who made sure we enjoyed a magnificent celebration of our anniversary, and our time in Jerusalem.

We found this to be a great location where we could easily walk to the Old City and other areas. Concierge, Alessandro Barracca, arranged lovely welcome treats to celebrate my son’s birthday and Masters graduation that he sent to our upgraded Junior Suite. The room was spacious and comfortable with nice Ahava toiletries. The breakfast buffet and menu items are Kosher so there are dairy, but no meat offerings. There were many tasty choices. The hotel service was good and employees were helpful. Would highly recommend staying here!

This is the third time I've stayed at this hotel. They are very welcoming & helpful. The room was very nicely decorated and clean. The hotel-provided toiletries are the Ahava brand, which is a mark of quality. This Waldorf Astoria is a great location; an easy walk to the Old City. Lastly, somehow, this hotel even managed to arrange fabulous weather for my trip - not sure how they did that!

My wife and I spent a week at The Waldorf in May 2022. We were happy to return to Israel 2 years since the Israeli government barred foreigners from entry. We love Jerusalem and we have stayed at The Waldorf, King David, and Citadel in the past. This trip, we returned to The Waldorf because of its walking proximity to the Old City, and because the hotel is somewhat new with all modern amenities.

There seems to be a problem in Jerusalem. None of the hotels can get decent help. The housekeeping at The Waldorf are staffed with older men. As result, as expected, the rooms are not clean. Additionally, although the hotel is less than 10 years old, it appears run down. The hallway carpets are frayed, and the walls are banged up with scuff marks. (We avoided the King David because that hotel is massively run down, and the rooms are filthy.)

The management at The Waldorf was pleasant and they did try to provide a hospitable and comfortable stay, but in no way is the staff high end or professional.

All the Jerusalem Hotels include breakfast buffet. After staying at the Citadel, King David, and Waldorf, we do rate the Waldorf as the worst breakfast of the three. I ordered an egg omelet on two separate mornings, and unfortunately, they were the worst omelets I ever had in my life.

Nonetheless, my wife and I were happy with our stay, and we would go back. Among the bad hotels near the Old City, the Waldorf is the lesser of all evils. We won’t be disappointed because our expectations are so low.

This was my first stay at the WA Jerusalem. The hotel is mesmerizing with fantastic location 2 minutes walk from Mamila center . The sense of luxury and comfort is displayed everywhere the moment you step in from the lobby to the classic modern and luxury guest room, beautiful meeting rooms and a world famous new Guerlin Spa.
The breakfast buffet which is actually a brunch was back and the selection was fantastic and very nicely displayed making it difficult to decide what to choose.
Most of all the staff was very attentive from the bar to the restaurant , parking and the front office staff. Highly recommend this special hotel.

This was as find a hotel stay as we have ever had. From the second we checked in at the front desk. To the help from the Bellmean, Everybody at the hotel was so kind and welcoming. The hotel is beautiful rooms are well kept and housekeeping and turn down service were both excellent.

The swimming pool has just reopened. The star of the show is the breakfast. It’s the best that I’ve had in Israel. Cured salmon just melts in your mouth. And as good as the food was the service was even better. FAOUD manages the staff and is just a great guy always making sure we had everything we needed. Two servers really stood out in Sammi and Aaron. They take tremendous pride in what they do and we are in some cases bring us but we have been having every morning before we even ask for it.

Especially as Israel is emerging from COVID you will never have an opportunity to stay at a 5 star hotels like this for such a reasonable room rate. God-willing we can return soon.

Well done!

Dear Dobson-Shaw, Your fellow travelers have provided excellent information. Indeed all Jerusalem hotels are kosher, significance being the following: specific dietary restrictions, meat and dairy served separately, on Sabbath and Jewish holidays menu available is the traditional Sabbath meals or a cold menu. Also as noted - there are quite a few superb non-kosher restaurants in the close vicinity. In the event you wish to contact us directly, we would be more than happy further clarify and assist.
