Finding an economic and available hotel in Jerusalem may sometimes be quite challenging. Abraham Hostel is central (15 min walk to Jaffa gate) and maybe a good option, if you are not too demanding. I was already hosted in this hostel more than 10 years ago, and it did not change a lot. Renovations measures would be highly welcome. Rooms...

I stayed in a private single room for a week. Accommodations are basic but adequate (note no hair dryer in room but the air is so dry, I had no issues. They do have one at the front desk you can ask for.). The rooms could use a fresh coat of paint in a colour that doesn't show scuff marks...

They provids a number of info for day trip to different location of Israrl. The staff is very helpful and reponse very fast. I especially highlight the breadfast. A lot of food choice and very fresh! Overall I had a very good stay there.

This hostel has a good social vibe and get-to-know-other-people atmosphere. Good facilities and good breakfast. A large lounge for hanging out and meeting. Clean dorms! Very stable bunk beds (can't be underestimated). Only complain is the mattresses, they are quite thin.

they have great facilities - they took care of all the tiny stuff. lockers every where... the common area are spacy and cool. we had cheap BBQ on the roof top, and later had a great (and cheap) local beer at the main area. great place to meat new people if youre a solo traveler.

Honestly the best hostel I've ever been! The staff is very friendly and helpful (gave us also the info we still didn't know we needed), the hostel is clean and cozy, the common spaces guarantee you can meet new people or have some privacy or enjoy a beer on the roof. Moreover, this is located just on the tram track...

I stayed at Abraham's with family and friends last year and considering that we were looking for a budget accommodation in Jerusalem, I believe we couldn't have made a better choice. Overall our stay was seamless, rooms were OK, staff was very friendly and helpful, location is GREAT and they offer a breakfast that I rarely saw in other hostels...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Abraham is known as the father of monotheism and was the first backpacker in the Middle East. He journeyed throughout the lands accepting hospitality from those whose homes he came to, and extending hospitality to anyone who passed near his tent. We wish to extend Abraham's Biblical hospitality to our time. We, the staff & owners of Abraham Hostels, created our dream hostel in Jerusalem to support travelers in the Middle East. The Abraham Hostel is located in Jerusalem's city center catering for independent travelers and small groups. Our location allows for easy walking access to all major sites such as the Old City or Mahane Yehuda Market. There are plenty of public transportation options right outside to various Jerusalem sites, as well as to the international airport and other cities in Israel and the West Bank. The hostel offers daily activities and tours in our ongoing effort to encourage travelers to make new friends and new experiences. Whether it's our hostel bar, traveler's information center or chill-out rooftop, we try to provide everything an independent traveler needs when travelling in the area. For those traveling outside Jerusalem there is a special discount when staying in Abraham Hostel Tel Aviv and the Fauzi Azar Inn in Nazreth, as well as special shuttle service between all three branches. ... more   less
