I live far away from Jerusalem, but I work daily in Jerusalem. When I need a place to crash, I choose Abraham Hostel as the place. Friendly staff, clean accommodations, and the community the hostel cultivates is amazing. If you travel to Israel, especially if this is your 1St time. Even if you can afford fancier accommodations, at least make... More

The room is well maintained and cleaned daily. I am glad I shared it with 5 lovely girls who kept the room tidy as well. The location is very convenient and accessible, there's a tram behind the hotel and a walking distance to interesting places in Jerusalem.

It's a very good hostel, but the receptionists are not very patient. The included breakafast is very nice (good coffee!!) and also the rooms with bathrooms inside are very will equiped. I also recommend their tours: they are perfect!

Maybe the best overall hostel I have stayed in. I have traveled almost 4 years now. This place is roomy, not crowded like so many places. The kitchen is clean and well supplied with utensils. The common areas are very large and comfortable. Wifi is good and breakfast included with the bed price is very good. Wonderful staff.

The Abraham Hostel was so convenient. The staff could not have been more helpful if they had tried. The hostel is great value for money and central to key attractions, located about 20 minutes from the Old City (casual walk, although I do like walking). The trip desk staff basically planned my holiday for me when I said what I... More

Not that the place is old or something historical but traveling with 3 others friends we found ourselves sharing one dorm with 2 bunk beds bringing us all back to when we were in uni and before we even became friends :) The room we had was spacious to host 4 people - small medium and large without bumping on... perfectly central location, (most places are walkable to, plus you are 30 seconds from the Light Rail), spotlessly clean, comfortable; private rooms are available, interesting international crowd at breakfast (so what if you have to wash your own breakfast dishes), friendly helpful staff.......I can afford a fancy hotel, but I choose to be here (4th time) for all the above... Very friendly and helpfull staff . The rooms are old and basic but clean and functional . Nice bar and lounge . Perfect city location . Bus and tram very nearby. At arrival I got a free Jerusalem map with some good tips for cafés , restaurants and things to see. Great service for an honest price.

The hostel is a perfect place To stay for few days in Jerusalem. The location is pretty good, you can go walking To the ben yehuda market for food or some drinks, To old city (15 min walk or take the tram 5 min), To damascus gate or central bus station (where the most bus leaves to places around). The... More

Really enjoyed staying in this hostel. The location is perfect, especially if you want to be close to the Old City and Machane Yehuda shuk, as well as lots of nice places to walk. Also convenient to public trans. Staff were all very helpful. Enjoyed hanging in the lounge and on the rooftop. Nice diversity of guests - all ages.... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Abraham is known as the father of monotheism and was the first backpacker in the Middle East. He journeyed throughout the lands accepting hospitality from those whose homes he came to, and extending hospitality to anyone who passed near his tent. We wish to extend Abraham's Biblical hospitality to our time. We, the staff & owners of Abraham Hostels, created our dream hostel in Jerusalem to support travelers in the Middle East. The Abraham Hostel is located in Jerusalem's city center catering for independent travelers and small groups. Our location allows for easy walking access to all major sites such as the Old City or Mahane Yehuda Market. There are plenty of public transportation options right outside to various Jerusalem sites, as well as to the international airport and other cities in Israel and the West Bank. The hostel offers daily activities and tours in our ongoing effort to encourage travelers to make new friends and new experiences. Whether it's our hostel bar, traveler's information center or chill-out rooftop, we try to provide everything an independent traveler needs when travelling in the area. For those traveling outside Jerusalem there is a special discount when staying in Abraham Hostel Tel Aviv and the Fauzi Azar Inn in Nazreth, as well as special shuttle service between all three branches. ... more   less
