With a family of 5, with 2 adult kids and 1 young kid, not every hostel can offer what we need. This one does, though our 8-year old child seemed to be the only non adult. Very nice polyvalent community space, ever friendly and patient personnel and volunteers, good location, basic facilities but all functional, touring and workshop possibilities: it's... More

We got our own room and bath so we had privacy but we could go downstairs and talk with people. Breakfast is communal, but they could expand it a bit. They help you with everything. The location is convenient. For what you pay, you get a lot.

The hostel has a great vibe. The complimentary breakfast is simple, but very tasty. The set up of the dining room is a great way of meeting other travelers, who are very friendly and have interesting stories. There are swings as chairs in the chill-out lounge area, as well as a bar, beanbag chairs, a piano, pool, foosball, and a... More

This is the best place to stay in all of Israel. I stayed there in the winter and came back in the summer. The front desk staff go far and beyond their duties, and help you with any question you may have. They are so friendly, and they enjoy their jobs. They offer assistance with tours, and also with activities... More

I chose the Abraham Hostel as a conveniently located base in Israel's capital, Yerushalaim...and it turns out that I chose wisely! The place is clean and run efficiently; the staff are totally friendly and helpful; the bar is a great place to meet people and chill; the breakfast was great; and the Shabbat evening dinner was fantastic. It's a good... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Abraham is known as the father of monotheism and was the first backpacker in the Middle East. He journeyed throughout the lands accepting hospitality from those whose homes he came to, and extending hospitality to anyone who passed near his tent. We wish to extend Abraham's Biblical hospitality to our time. We, the staff & owners of Abraham Hostels, created our dream hostel in Jerusalem to support travelers in the Middle East. The Abraham Hostel is located in Jerusalem's city center catering for independent travelers and small groups. Our location allows for easy walking access to all major sites such as the Old City or Mahane Yehuda Market. There are plenty of public transportation options right outside to various Jerusalem sites, as well as to the international airport and other cities in Israel and the West Bank. The hostel offers daily activities and tours in our ongoing effort to encourage travelers to make new friends and new experiences. Whether it's our hostel bar, traveler's information center or chill-out rooftop, we try to provide everything an independent traveler needs when travelling in the area. For those traveling outside Jerusalem there is a special discount when staying in Abraham Hostel Tel Aviv and the Fauzi Azar Inn in Nazreth, as well as special shuttle service between all three branches. ... more   less
