The Mamilla Hotel garners praise for its spotless rooms and overall cleanliness, with guests appreciating the modern touches and comfort of the accommodations, though some note the rooms can feel a bit cramped. While the tranquil atmosphere and proximity to key sites like the Kotel and Old Jerusalem are highlights, the dining experiences have detracted from the perceived value. Service receives mixed reviews, with the staff's exceptional service often overshadowed by instances of unprofessionalism at the restaurant and bar. Despite this, amenities such as the gym and breakfast offerings are frequently lauded.

Our stay at Mamilla was elevated by 7 standout staff members: Mohammad at the front desk, Laila, who served us during breakfast, and Kamal, the Breakfast Resturant Manager, and Junaton, Idy, Mohamad, and Ebedat who cleaned our rooms.

Even before we arrived at Mamilla, Mohamad was in contact to make sure that everything ran smoothly. My husband is handicapped and getting around is not so simple. Mohammad was texting us to ensure the travel from TLV to Jerusalem was smooth, and had men waiting when we got there to help my husband out of the van we travelled in. Additionally, we were cutting it close to Shabbat on Friday. Even tho it was such short notice, Mohammad dedicated his time that instant to help us figure out travel plans, calling different agencies and brainstorming ideas. He recommended a type of golf car that can go into the old city to help ensure my husband got there smoothly and in time for Shabbat. Additionally, he always made sure to check in with us during our stay and genuinely cared to hear about any concerns or feedback. Additionally, He helped get us in and out of building to the mall so we didn’t have to maneuver hills (handicap lift).

One day we slept late and missed housekeeping. We called at 9 pm with low expectations. To our surprise, housekeeping came within in an hour to clean the room. Moreover, everyday the maids were extremely thorough. In addition to cleaning our rooms, one night, she even stopped by to ask if we needed anything extra (is; towels, lotions, water, etc.). Specifically, Junaton, Idy, Mohamad, and Ebedat were excellent and so willing to help & go the extra mile. They did such a good job cleaning the rooms and making sure we had everything we needed.

Laila, who served us for breakfast, always greeted us with the warmest smile. When we would arrive, she would immediately ask us what we wanted to drink and even brought us our omelets from the kitchen. When my husband was not feeling well, they were so accommodating and gave us to go containers (even tho they technically are not allowed to do that). her kindness, attention to detail, and genuine care made breakfast and our day start off with an extra boost of joy.

Kamals hospitality and going the extra mile was evident in every interaction. He ensured that we felt cared for, consistently going above and beyond to accommodate requests and maintain a flawless dining experience.

we had the most pleasant stay for the Jewish holiday of SUkkos at the Mamila Hotel.
the staff - from reception, housekeeping, serving staff, bell boy to managers were simply amazing. they always had a smile and addressed anything we needed literally within minutes. The food was plentiful and beautiful variety. They helped us find someone to babysit when our hired babysitter did not show up. when one of the carving station ran out of meat, they saw our disappointment and within minutes, brought us a huge platter of freshly grilled steaks instead! the maitre d brought food for our young grandson as he is still eating "baby type" food even before we could thnk of it.
they let us stay at breakfast way past the scheduled time frame.
location near the kotel, the western wall, makes it so appealing.
one of the holiday meals was on the 8th floor rooftop which was breathtaking.
we have stayed in other luxury hotels in the area but our stay here surpassed the others. we look forward to our next visit here. thank you Orly and Nazeer and Mohammed to name a few - your staff is amazing! The Fogels from Monsey

We stayed at the hotel for one night anyway and fell in love! The perfect location, right in the heart of Jerusalem, allows us to comfortably stroll the old city and the market.
The room was spacious and tastefully decorated, and the view from the window was just breathtaking. But the headline was undoubtedly the breakfast. A huge variety of fresh, high-quality and fancy dishes - just a celebration for joy!
The staff was courteous and professional, and the service was beyond expectation. Enjoyed every moment!

We wrote a review previously but left out additional staff members that really made our stay at mamilla : Mark at the front desk, Aref and Faris our servers at breakfast. Aref and Faris and Chief were very efficient and responsive. They went out of their way to ensure we were well taken care of. Anytime we turned around, they were right there, ready to help - but never in a way that felt overwhelming. Instead, their attentiveness felt natural + caring.

Every time we sat down, they were quick to greet us with warm smiles and asked if there was anything we needed. Whether it was refilling coffee, bringing extra needs, or accommodating a last-minute request, they hadnled everything quickly and effortlessly. They were always moving with purpose, making sure our table was taken care of and finding time to make us feel like we were their priority.

Mark. Mark went above and beyond during our stay, not only with his warm smile and professionalism but also with his hands-on assistance. Throughout our stay, he assisted with various front desk issues. On the day of our departure, Mark personally helped us load our bags – over 10 in total, including a wheelchair – into the car. He worked quickly and efficiently, ensuring that everything was handled with care. What impressed us most was how smartly he organized the trunk, maximizing space while making sure all items were secure and easily accessible. His thoughtfulness and efficiency turned what could have been a stressful process into a smooth and seamless experience.

These staff members showed that it wasn’t just about the service; it was the way they made us feel cared for that truly left an impression.

The hotel has a very nice and modern design. Although the room is smaller than average, still it's design makes it to look big. The bathroom is very nicely done, with changing its transparency glass walls. With all this the room is a bit dark, due to it's illumination(but this i will not outpoint it as a minus for this hotel, because in most of the hotels this is the tendency, not proper illumination).
The room has nespresso machine with plenty of capsules and even if it is finished a phone call to the reception and they will send more capsules or water or shampoo. Quick and nice service.
The negative part in the room is that it is no fridge which can be used by the guest, as it is packed with drinks of the hotel and once moved from the fridge it is charged to your room. Our was locked. This in winter is not a problem, but in the heat of the summer can be a huge problem, as cold water is a must in the heat.
We had half pension in the hotel, but the food is not the best variety and taste as well. Mainly are prepared salads with dressings and not the best dressings, either too sweet, either very sour or very salted or old and the vegetables in it are spoiled. Fresh vegetables is a very little option, maybe guests prefer to prepare their own salads. The cheese section for breakfast is very low in variety - 3 types of some sort of brie, single type of yellow cheese and few types of white cheese and feta. Dinner, not the best, food oily, meat was not properly cooked, sort of "grandmother of the cow". In one word the food is not on the level of a 5 stars hotel, maybe on the level of a 2 start hotel. In the second night we even skipped the dinner at the hotel and went out to eat.
If I would return here, maybe, but for sure I would not chose half pension, as the food is not good at all.

Thank you for choosing Mamilla Hotel for your recent Jerusalem stay. We learn from your description that you enjoyed the service, and that you appreciate the hotel's unique modern design - loved by many. From your ratings, we are pleased to know in addition, that the hotel's convenient location, as well as the cleanliness throughout the hotel's spaces appropriately reflected both your expectations, and our high standards. We are nevertheless disappointed to learn that your experience was not complete. Regarding your comment about fridges in the rooms: we are at all times prepared to send an extra fridge to our guests, free of charge. Your dining experience was also shared with our senior management, who will be sure to review the aspects you describe with the relevant teams. We look forward to renewed opportunities for hosting you, and offering you the true Mamilla Hotel Experience. Sincerely, The Management.

Our group only had a one night stay at this hotel, we were all looking forward to staying at this stunning hotel, only to find that on Sunday the 11th of Jun, the roof top restaurant and bar which has an amazing view of the old city was closed for cleaning which was disappointing but then the Sun roof was also closes and then after a long hot day in the city exploring the pool was also closed. We spoke to management and they were extremely rude and told us we should have asked as we could have used facilities at another hotel, like how were we to know and at these prices you do expect to actually be able to enjoy the whole experience of hotel and we did not. Please be careful when booking this hotel as the management will just argue id there are any issues 😕

Dear Guest, Thank you for sharing your candid feedback with us. We thank you for choosing Mamilla Hotel, and are at one and the same time quite dismayed to learn that on the time of your arrival, you could not benefit from all the advantages Mamilla Hotel is well known for. We apologize to you for the inconsistencies and misunderstandings concerning our facilities, and made sure to instruct the relevant personnel as to how to avoid such mistakes in future. The Summer is a bustling season, with many events and goings-on occurring simultaneously, yet this is certainly no reason for you to miss out on anything. As for the pool, indeed, guests who prefer swimming in an outdoor pool can choose to do so, at the David Citadel - Our twin Hotel, via the coordination of our front office team. Again, we apologize for any inconvenience you may have experienced, and assure you that we will make sure, given an additional chance, to be of better and more refined service to you in future. We will be grateful to have a new opportunity in which to improve your impressions for the better. Sincerely, The Mamilla Hotel Management and Team.

We had the most incredible long weekend at Mamilla hotel. Beginning with our check-in at the front desk, we were given a three category upgrade because of booking through my American Express Platinum card and the fine hotels and resorts program. The rooms were fantastic, clean, updated, and tasteful. The breakfast was out of this world. One morning there wasn’t a large amount of food that my son with some allergies could eat so they made him Belgian waffles! The Shabbat dinner was outstanding, the variety and the flavor was out of this world, the desserts were beautiful and delicious as well. Special shout out to Mark, Nabi and Stephane at the front desk, but really everyone we encountered was so pleasant, helpful and eager to please.
If you are looking for a hotel in Jerusalem with close proximity to the old city, this is the place for you. Cannot beat the location- walking distance to so many places of interest and the light rail is a block away, too.
Cannot wait to go back!!! Magical experience for the whole family.

Like other reviews the Hotel is in a great position and the service is OK. Except of course if one happens to be there in this International hotel on a Friday/Saturday when one cannot even get a slice of toast for breakfast! We had a suite, which must have been the worst designed hotel room we have ever stayed in. Only one place to put a suitcase on the fold out stand, the other cases have to be put on a sofa. or the floor.. A nice round table but no stools or chairs to sit at. Complicated lighting systems and even a glass wall between the bedroom and bathroom that need to be switched to opaque from the bathroom. Who wants to see ones other half when they are in the bathroom! Basically no power points for charging mobiles/ iPads/cameras etc without groping behind furniture. A bathroom with very little protected ( from the shower) shelving for toiletries and one open rain shower which wets the whole bathroom so one gets wet feet when going to the toilet. Unable to eat in the hotel because it was the week end. and when we did want to it was booked for a function. Was not impressed and certainly not value for money.

Our group of 55 stayed here for 4 nights in July for a Holy Land tour. This is a lovely hotel with big common spaces, an indoor pool, and spa and gym access at the next door spa.

The sleeping area was not very big but the bathroom was a good size with a separate shower and tub, Etro toiletries, big and thick towels. The closets were roomy, the hairdryer was better than my Dyson :-), nightly turndown service and water was replenished daily. Rooms also had a Nespresso machine.

There was a huge spread for breakfast every morning in there beautiful ballroom dowstairs. If it's cool enough, sit at the very pretty al fresco area.

They also have a great rooftop restaurant with wonderful views at dusk so don't miss it.

Right beside the hotel is also a commercial strip with shopping and restaurants.

I hesitated between 3 and four, the fair note would be 3,5 but the localisation and the beautiful rooms and common areas made me choose 4 above 3 and especially with the poor other option in the area

Let’s start with the good points :

- Well situated, next to the old city
- Really beautiful common areas, decorated with taste
- Room is nice (small but nice)

But, we were disappointed by many important points during our stay especially regarding the price we paid :

Really bad food experience (both breakfast and restaurant). Food was not good at all

Really bad service overall
Bad service at the restaurant
Bad service at the bar
At the bar and the restaurant, they are unprofessional and really don’t care about your well being. They don’t even try to..
At the restaurant The waiters brought us both the starter and the main dish at the same time, without apologizing, despite the fact this was not we asked for..
they brought the wine after having finished the dishes…
Restaurant was cold

No Mini bar in the room Just an empty refrigerator…

At the bar we were installed to some table, despite the fact that we wanted to go to other ones but we were told that was impossible because it was for people who want to dine… the dining room was just 100% empty… (and it was 98% empty when we finished our drink)
We were asked if we want wine… we said that we would like cocktails and the lady who placed us really showed that she was annoyed.. yes because pouring a glass of wine seems to mean less effort than doing a cocktail…
We asked if we can have some snacks while we were having our drink, in return she asked us if we had a reservation for dinner, in case we did a reservation in the meantime… We didn’t… but obviously, if you are drinking, you can’t eat in the same time? Are you serious?? It was not possible to drink cocktails and to have snacks in the same time… not even some olives…

Cocktails were really not good at all

We really were chocked by the lack of service, of hospitality we felt in both the bar and the restaurant.

At the reception, people were a bit nicer

We paid a lot of money and it was definitely not in line with experience provided

We dropped off our luggage but it was for one of the days we were there. You may want to email the concierge since the day your asking for is the following day after you checkout.
