This hostel is right in the Old City of Jerusalem a few minutes from Jaffa gate. If you want to soak up the atmosphere and appreciate the history of this special city it is a great spot from which to do so. The actual building is many hundreds of years old and has a great rooftop allowing you can see... More

The location of this place is unbeatable right in the center of the old town - and yet is a quiet little side street. It's a bit like cave, though, with many corners and floors full of stuff. The toilets are bad, as are the showers and our room had no window or ventilation. On teh upside: the terrace has... More

It's not a 4 star hotel, but if that's what you're looking for then Crack your purse. I rate on a basis of quality relative to price. The Citadel was slightly pricey for a hostel but you gotta remember you're in an expensive city. The staff at the front desk was great. Now, if you're over 5 feet talk you... More

This place is very dirty. Bedsheets were not changed after the last guests and my request for new set so I could change it myself was ignored. Showers are outrageously cramped and filthy. As the place is cheap it is understandable to expect very small rooms and lack of air con. That is fine. However, surely cleaning the room after... More

This hostel is located in the very center of the old town, in the Armenian quarter, surrounded by small shops and restaurants. Because the whole old town is OLD, the interior of this hostel is absolutely amazing and breathtaking (from a historical point of view). There is a tarrace on the roof, which is a great spot for taking pictures... More

I was in Jerusalem for a total of four months between December and June and spent about three weeks of that time, mostly in May, at the Citadel (the hostel reserves the right to enforce a 14 day stay limit but I was told that generally if the guest is not causing any problems they are welcome to stay longer).... It's ok but I think expensive and not that nice because there is no AC at all. The dorms look nicer than the private rooms. I guess it would have been nice on the roof as well - and cheaper. Anyway the architecture is interesting. Make sure to check out in time.

I have stayed here twice and always stayed on the roof. For a few euro's you have a good night's rest under the stars whilst you can see all the highlights of the old city. There are powersockets up there, mattresses and, if needed, you can put up your tent right there. The location is just great! Nearby Jaffa gate,... More

This was an interesting hostel in terms of decoration and architecture. Dorms were cozy but a bit crowded, bathrooms on the ground floor were not as clean but there were several on first floor that were cleaner but no hot water. The terrace view was spectacular and the surroundings were peaceful. There was option to sleep in tents on the... More
