Detailed Reviews
We spent one night at the Colony hotel in Haifa, and it was great. The hotel is beautiful, located at a renovated Templer's building, the rooms are comfortable and nice. We were upgraded for the room as it was our wedding anniversary. The girl at the reception was very nice and recommended us with restaurants to eat. The "Rak Basar" (Only Meat) restaurant gives 10% discount to the hotel's guests and so does the "Shtroudel" restaurant (I think...). Breakfast was good. We enjoyed our stay very much!

+1
Solo visiting Baha'i Pilgrim and seasoned traveler. Have no crazy expectations, just looking to be comfortable. So:-----Approaching the threshold of the hotel there was an immediate warm and inviting glow that was most welcoming. A furnished entrance code allows after hours or Shabot access through the magnetic entrance door. The hotel is easily wheelchair, or anyone challenged by stairs,... accessible with convenient elevators. The room was well appointed and presented with every essential required, clean, and added appointments such as chocolate, tea, water, and toilet paper that was soft. A quiet climate control system complimented the comfortable bed and pillows that afforded a very restful night. The housekeeping staff were friendly and most accommodating answering questions on local color and shopping. The evening manager was easily approachable and resolved a quick question, and Mickey, the general day manager, was most courteous and knowledgeable of points of interest and transportation. Easy shopping at a mall that is an 8 minute walk, pharmacy, and many local eateries, many within 3 minutes, providing main and desert offerings, as well as next day box lunches, at reasonable cost. The small convenience market directly across the street can provide all the needed pop, ice cream, phone chargers, cords, and re-chip your phone with a working Israeli chip...and put things back when it is time to depart....again, all at a reasonable cost. Worth a token, or more, of gratitude at the end! In the heart of much activity, the hotel rests in the shadow of the Shrine Of The Ba'b, the renowned Baha'i Gardens, and their magnificent ascending terraces! Expect a 30 shekel taxi ride to the Pilgrim Reception Center at 82 Hatzionut or most any point of interest.
(Figure 450 shekels for a private taxi ride to the airport) The Colony Hotel in Haifa, Israel is a winner. Highly recommended as your new home, away from home. Questions?.... Just message me: "RJ Storm" ...on Facebook.

This us a wonderful hotel located in Haifa with Amazing views to the Bahai Temple. During the day the views are great, but at night when the temple and gardens are lit it is simply fantastic.
the hotel is built in a restored old building with high ceilings and amazing floors. the room we stayed in was big with a large bathroom, walk-in shower and a small hall with a minibar and kettle.
Breakfast is good with a variety of cheese, salads bread, and some warm dishes. On weekdays (not Saturday) they also offer omelettes.
the staff are all very friendly and willing to help
So why not 5*
the management should pay more attention to the maintenance of the room (at least our room 102) - the toilet seat is broken, the shower head is rusty, the door in the bathroom needs a paint-over, WIFI does not work in the room which apparently also affects the TV. The roof is a wonderful place to spend the evening hours but there too there are chairs with torn seating and falling apart tables.
with just a little more attention this place could really be a Jewel

I stayed at the Colony Hotel for 4 nights recently. Haifa weather was warm during the day and the hotel room heated up. In the evening the room was hot. I complained to the desk clerk who checked the air conditioning and apologized stating that the heat was on. She turned the fan on and the room was slightly cooler. I also requested her to turn on the air conditioning. She refused and I requested that she check with manager who also refused. The next day was warmer and when I returned to the room there was hot air coming from the ventilation system. I again complained. The desk clerk again checked the system and told me the fan was on. I again asked her for the air conditioning to be turned on and she again assured me that nothing could be done.
The hotel website states that the rooms have central air-conditioning. This is clearly misleading. I also informed my Israeli friends that the hotel is not air-conditioned and they were shocked that this hotel in Haifa is not air-conditioned.
In addition, the room was shabby. The bathroom was not up to expectations in cleanliness and the facial tissue was gone by the second day and not replaced.
Overall, a very disappointing experience.

After staying in Haifa now more than 6 months, I finally spent two weeks in the Colony Hotel.
It was a great experience to be here. The breakfast is well selected and has a lot of good salads. The people working here are very friendly and considerate. The room was always clean, fresh and well organized.
The complete hotel makes a good impression, even though the building originates from 100 years ago.
You have the feeling to be back in the 1930s.
The location is very convenient. Restaurants just in the street, pedestrian area and Subway 10 Minutes walking, Supermarket 10 Minutes, It is easy to find a parking place behind the building. I will come back.

we were in off-season, so I guess prices were lower than average. So, in terms of value for money it is superb - service, location, breakfast, rooms, views from the 4th floor roof top terrace, receptionists and dining room staff. Will return.

The only good thing about this hotel is the location, in the middle of the German Colony.
At the evening of our stay the hotel hosted a private party in the dining room which continued till late at night.
The volume of the music was so high we couldn’t sleep.
When calling to the reception there was no answer so I went there and waited for someone to show up.
An employee finally arrived to the front desk at 11PM and told me they are about to end the gathering soon however it ended only an hour later (my son was trying to sleep from 8PM).
Next day, Saturday morning, we asked for a late check-out so we could rest some more and were refused at first.
Only when talking with the reception manager, we were allowed to stay for 2 additional hours before leaving the room.

Great hotel in the middle of German Colony in Haifa. The building itself is an old German guesthouse of about 120 years. Close to port, Baha’i gardens and Haifa Museum of Art. Very friendly and professional service. Good breakfast, it was served personally to our table in the dining room due to COVID-19. We can see they took all the precautions to limit people exposure to each other. The room nice and clean. And we were even upgrade without asking for it. Will definitely come back.

The hotel is located in a conservation building and is indeed well maintained.
Large, well-maintained rooms, in the room a refrigerator, coffee set, air conditioner and telephone.
Excellent breakfast and a very user-friendly chef.
High level staff and does everything for the benefit of the guest and the stay in the place, even possible parking nearby.
The center of Haifa and a lot to see and travel.

You enter the hotel and feels like you stepped into a colonial pre war resort. The service is superb, the location is excellent and you can walk and see so much just a waking distance- the Baha’i gardens, wadi nis nas market and restaurants, downtown Haifa and more.

There is limited parking directly behind the hotel, but it is first come first served generally. Ask the hotel if it can accommodate a special need for parking.
Only street parking, and it is very limited. When we checked in early on a Tuesday morning we were lucky enough, after driving around for 15 minutes, we found a spot right across the street from the hotel. We did not even got to the car until we left on Friday morning, knowing that if we gave up that spot we would be searching again.
I remember that the bedding was generous and the bed was quite comfortable but there were only two of us and we are of average height. I'm not sure what they would provide for a third person in the room. However, I found the staff very accommodating and friendly. I'm sure that you could work things out if there were to be an issue. It's a very nice boutique hotel. No complaints whatsoever about it.
