I stayed at the Nazar Hotel during my visit to Selçuk and Ephesus. This has been the best lodging experience during my visit to Turkey so far. When there were no cars available to pick me up from Kayseri, the owner Ilker came and picked me up himself. During the drive to the hotel, Ilker supplied me with loads of valuable information, not only for my stay in the Selçuk area but for my upcoming trip to Pamukkale and onwards to Fetiye. He made the use of the train (TCDD) and the Dolmus bus super straightforward. He was also just an all-around great guy to converse with - he was friendly with a good sense of humor. As for the hotel itself, it had everything I needed. The room was well-appointed and clean, had strong A/C, and everything ‘just worked’. I also like the fact that they are energy conscious with automatic switches that only light up areas when needed. The pool was also a welcoming amenity after a long hot day tour of Ephesus and Selçuk.

I can’t go without mentioning the breakfast, which was included with the stay. The eggs, fruits and vegetables were fresh from Ilker’s nearby farm and they were remarkable. Also hard to beat having breakfast right in front of an olive tree (see pics).

Thanks for being a great host and guide Ilker.

This is the best hotel in Selcuk! The rooms are clean and well appointed, and some have a view of the 6th C. castle on the adjacent hill. Breakfasts on the roof top terrace are simply excellent and the home-made jams are something special.

Owners Ilker and Selma are great hosts, nothing is too much trouble, its a very happy environment and they are personally interested in helping their guests. Ilker is also a travel agent and can assist with travel and tours anywhere in Turkey.

A highlight is the lush private stone walled garden full of greenery with a swimming pool. There's currently a couple of small rescued mountain tortoises in residence!

Selcuk is a great little town to visit, plenty of cafes and restaurants nearby, and this is a great little hotel 3 mins walk from the town centre! You can walk to a number of historic attractions and even the famous ancient Roman city of Ephesus is only 2 or 3 Km away.

Would we go back? Yes, this was our 4th holiday to Selcuk and the Nazar Hotel, and not our last!

Pension is at first glance surprising in the neighborhood where it is located: but the neighborhood is ultimately very quiet, safe and very human, welcoming. Inker is a perfect host: bridge between cultures and languages, his tour tips, planning of them, is perfect, and onions for all his guests. Good size rooms, airco as well, pt dej on the roof, nice as everything, good, nice, nothing to add. My best address in Turkey...

Good morning, everyone. I don't understand how you can star this hotel. This is the 3rd time we come to this hotel. Impossible from this doughnut, the owner tells us all the time that there is chlorine product or etc then the children meet. In a courtyard with a pool or can not. Use it. Is breakfast a disaster? You have to order to get a piece of cheese. I don't understand at all. People who rate this kind. Hotel. With good grades. This is the third is last time unfortunately we had. Dis. That must have changed. Well, Mom. For the third consecutive point? No, I mean, the second time in a row. We were disappointed extremely on it. I strongly advise you. Dali in this hotel, the rooms are tiny, air conditioning works for half the room in the other half is not air conditioned the bathroom from 1942 date. The owner is very nice. His wife kind of me? But that's not all. The catastrophic room hasn't been decorated in years. Separate high school for couples his steps neither. The help of user-friendly auras

If there were to give 10 stars, I would need them for Nazar Hotel and its owner! The hotel is in a top location, easy to walk from there to the bus station, train station and all the restaurants and sights in Selcuk. We had a four bed room which was huge, spotless clean and cosy. The pool and garden are great to cool off; we also enjoyed food delivered there. The terrace where the breakfast is served, has incredible vistas of the Selçuk castle - a view we will never forget! The Turkish breakfast is delicious!
A taxi to Ephesus is fast and cheap as the distance is not far.
The owner is incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, easy going and will do everything to not only make your stay a memorable one, but will also help and support with any other things. In our case we were waiting for contact lenses to be delivered to the hotel; they did not arrive on time from abroad so the owner then managed to have them delivered to us in Antalya on the same day. I don’t even want to know the hassle we put him through for this - for the owner it was the most normal thing to do; that is how he is and how he runs the hotel! 10 stars and more!

You will not be disappointed if you book a room at the Nazar - you get so much more than a room, you get a ton of personal, helpful attention. Ilker, the owner, goes out of his way to ensure your stay is perfect in every way. He booked a long distance bus ticket for us when my credit card wouldn’t allow me to do so online, he gave us a couple of local rides as we did not have a car and he offered his invaluable advice on our tour itinerary. Our room was lovely and has a view of the ruins. Actually the entire hotel was lovely, very homey and comfortable. I highly recommend the Nazar hotel and am so glad we stayed here!!

The Hotel Nazar was a great experience in a neighborhood setting in Selçuk. Our room was comfortable and the public spaces are really pleasant. The staff were very kind and breakfast was very good, with fresh coffee. The owner shared all his local knowledge, restaurants, and insights on local life, as well as his passion for rescuing local dogs and cats. Selçuk is a great little town and user/tourist friendly without being a “tourist town”, despite being so close to Ephesus.

First I arrived late, I told them that I couldn't arrive at 00:00 and they waited for me. Second, they gave us a very comfortable room and the breakfast was super. The place is cozy, quiet and very close to restaurants, and the ideal parking lot to store the rented car. More than that, Ilker is incredible. He helped me organize my time in Sulçuk, he told me about the open market on Saturdays, tips for times to go to Ephesus, and even more, he helped me coordinate part of my trip to Pammukale and Cappadocia at super good prices, and he warned me about the week of local holidays that could impact my trip. Their concern, kindness and disposition is a rarity in typical hotels. Super recommended.

I don't remember if the room has a heater. The hotel owner was so accommodating that I'm sure he will have whatever amenities on hand to be sure his guests are comfortable.
