The staff of the Hotel Romantic were helpful to us at every stage of our stay, 27/02/09-03/03/09 here while we visited the sites around Turkey. The hotel is a renovated home and the rooms are not huge, but the location and friendliness of the staff, as well as a the affordability, make up for the smaller sized rooms. The first room...

I was 2 weeks ago with my girlfriend in Istanbul and stayed for 3 nights at Hotel Romantic. We were delighted by the very good location of the hotel ( just 5 minutes walking to the main attraction points), the rooms and the personnel which was always very helpful. Adding to this point we were very lucky because on the...

We stayed at Romantic Hotel only for three nights between 20-23 of Oct. (unfortunately and wish we stayed more) and that was a quite nice time we spent. We stayed in a double room where we had the view of the Marmara Sea and the Islands.. The hotel is located very close to the most important attractions of the “Old-city”...

We booked from England for seven nights on a package including flights. Our daughter who is based in Egypt then said that she would join us in Istanbul. Yilmaz wanted 130 Euro per night for a room for her to stay with us. We refused and found another hotel for her about 100 metres away at 50 Euros per night....

Dear Guest(s), First of all thank you for sharing the experience you had while staying with us between 26 of Dec. – 02 of Jan. Your comments are very important for us.. As you mentioned below, yes, we asked you for Euro 130 per night between that period because of being in the new year term. You could have easily...

The location is perfect to visit the most monumental side of ancient Istanbul, including Hagya Sofia, the Blue Mosque and Topkapi. Moreover, very closed to the most typical quarter in the area, Small Hagya Sofia. Good reception by the hotel, friendly and kind staff, in a romantic old stye environement. Clean and tidy, though the room was quite small. It's...

It is an old ottoman house and you cn tell this by staying there...really authentic feeling. It is located in the more faschinating area of the town where you see all old ottoman houses well restored and colored...it...

Well you can't fault these guys for charm, effort, willingness to help, breakfast, location, views, comfort, cleanliness and authenticity of interior design, however I would say that the rooms and beds are on the small side. We wrote to the hotel separately upon reserving our room on lastminute.com and asked for a room with sea views as well as a...

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighborhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
