The hotel is beautiful and in a fabulous location. It's easy to reach many other parts of town easily - including the Asian side of Istanbul thanks to the nearby ferry terminal. The one thing that really won me over is how comfortable the beds were. Like sleeping on a cloud! The added perk of a complimentary smart phone with... More

I felt it necessary to give the hotel 4 stars simply because the design issues I had with the W Istanbul might be very attractive to others. So, I could not assume that my issues would be those of others! What is 4-stars about it? - really good location for lovely surrounding neighbourhoods; pleasant professional service levels; free use of... More

Modern, hip hotel with a nightclub vibe in the bar and modern spacious rooms. A really great place to relax and enjoy the melting pot of Istanbul. Hotel benefits from a fantastic location, few minutes walk to the waterfront of Besiktas with ferrets and boats on to the Bosphorus. Also a short stroll up the hill is the Nisantisi shopping... The reason I gave the hotel a very good rating was for location, service, friendly staff and breakfast. The look however of the lobby and my luxury room was 90s nightclub with dark dimly lit interiors. Better for a weekend break than for business and yet again why do I pay so much for slow wifi? Turning off lights a real headache... More

Great staff, they were so considerate and helpful. They even remembered my name. I had quite a bit of work to do and they helped me prepare for my meetings. The rooms are a little trendy for my taste but overall would highly recommend.

I had 1 night in Istanbul as part of a connecting flight layover. The W hotel was perfect, located in an upscale neighborhood near the Dolmabahce Palace and walking distance to the Galata Tower. There were lots of cafes and restaurants with 1-2 blocks of the W. My room was very nice and larger than the normal W hotel room... More

The staff and room were great. Very helpful, friendly and professional. There was a security guard at the entrance 24hrs a day. They took security seriously. Plenty of places to eat along the way. Very chic - hip rooms at a good price.

My wife and I spent three nights here. Came into town the day after a terrorist attack so we were a little nervous. So as we got to the hotel, check in was a breeze. The W insider Koray was fabulous. He recommended some things for us to do and all of his recommendations were on point. My wife especially... More

Staying in Besiktas

Neighborhood Profile
Besiktas
In Besiktas, skyscrapers compete with palaces for space in an upscale vista replete with hilly green parkland filling in the margins. Step into this rather wealthy neighborhood and discover a rich mix of opportunities to shop, dine, and be entertained. For folks in search of urban buzz, not to mention a constant reminder of just how important Istanbul’s waterways are to its rich history, there's the frenetic Besiktas ferry terminal or the city’s most vibrant fish market to explore. For a timeout of metropolitan proportions, head to the bucolic Yildiz Park or the chic Bosphorus-side fishing village of Ortakoy. Attractions such as the grandiose Dolmabahce Palace and a bevy of other stately residences await admiration. To be sure, this large and not overly touristy swath of Istanbul yields plenty of pleasure for all.
