In Besiktas, skyscrapers compete with palaces for space in an upscale vista replete with hilly green parkland filling in the margins. Step into this rather wealthy neighborhood and discover a rich mix of opportunities to shop, dine, and be entertained. For folks in search of urban buzz, not to mention a constant reminder of just how important Istanbul’s waterways are to its rich history, there's the frenetic Besiktas ferry terminal or the city’s most vibrant fish market to explore. For a timeout of metropolitan proportions, head to the bucolic Yildiz Park or the chic Bosphorus-side fishing village of Ortakoy. Attractions such as the grandiose Dolmabahce Palace and a bevy of other stately residences await admiration. To be sure, this large and not overly touristy swath of Istanbul yields plenty of pleasure for all.

Read some mix reviews here and was surprise to say that not sure why people complained about this hotel. As a Platinum Bonvoy member I finally felt as one in one of its property. The breakfast that is included for Platinum members and that the hotel provided was perfect and nice selection of food. The hotel is located is a very nice area, walking distance to a few places and easy access to attractions. We even got to use their gym, usually hotel gyms are not my thing but this one had a nice glass Wall and ceilings so we got a lot of natural light. the best of the hotel was Berk! The concierge at the hotel. W Istanbul is lucky to have someone like him. He made great recommendations for dinners, he organized a private boat ride for us making everything smooth. We were looking for specific rugs but were not sure where to go or who to trust, Berk went out of his way and in less than 20 min he came to us with picture and was able to send us to the right place in the Bazaar. Making our shopping experience incredible. Rooms and lay out of the building is a bit weird but is because the hotel is on a hill we thought the rooms are spacious.

We had a great experience at the W Istanbul especially with the staff. The breakfast buffet was amazing and the best part was the wonderful service we received. Faruk in special took the best care of us and made the experience throughly enjoyable. I feel like I’m at home. I give it 5 stars.

I had a brilliant stay here recently and found that the staff went out of their way to make the experience comfortable for me. Berk is simply amazing on the Whenever Whatever desk and sorted out a few teething problems that I had experienced with a great degree of flair. His desk's positioning amid the the layout of the Hotel was very central by the 2nd Floor's W Lounge and it means that guests can consult him at any stage- and much more conveniently than is common to most Concierge situations in Hotels. He went through the options for tours very well- and given my limited time in Istanbul, I could choose the best one for me to undertake in order to see the most in the shortest possible time. I loved the room that I was allocated (# 241) and found its private balcony and leafy garden complete with flower bushes to be especially contemplative and private. I got in some deep relaxation and sun bathing here. The deeply set sunken bed was large and supremely comfortable as well. I was attracted to the rhinestone studded mirror winking above the bed as well. The 3rd Floor Gymnasium was an attractive and state of the art facility. In short, I would gladly stay here again upon the occasion of any return visit to Istanbul. May I be able to complete one soon!
