This hotel has an incredibly (and plentiful) staff that are eager to help - and always with a smile on their faces. The rooms were quite comfortable and very clean. The location really can’t be beat as the W is in an upbeat and fun area of Istanbul and east access to everything. We’ve been traveling all over Europe on this trip and have stayed in many nice hotels - but the W has been one of the best experiences so far. It’s a fantastic value, too.
I love the location, its just right in the middle of this trendy neighbourhood of Besiktas. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Giving a shoutout to Deniz and Kartal from front office, thanks for showing me around in the hotel, You made my day! Also thank you to the concierge ISA for helping me finding transportation options. Breakfast was amazing. Some guests mentioned that it's an old building, well it is, thats the charm. I love it. Especially for Bonvoy elite member, this is a good pick. Very fun location. W is a fun brand, so they definitely picked the right spot to be in
I am a big fan of W hotels. I choose them because of their amazing modern design and focus to quality/service. While i had a few minor issues with the room, management and whatever/whenever were very cordial in taking my feedback. But it was really the concierges (Berk and Isa) who totally exceeded my expectations and contributed to offset the issues with the room. Their keen attention to detail, awesome recommendations and connections, were right on point. We were accommodated in a couple of restaurants within minutes and with kids (as an exception). They fully embody the W customer service that I value so much. Other highlights of W Istambul are: he location (lots of restaurants around), the design and the amenities (full gym, terrace bar, etc)
W Istanbul is truly an iconic hotel on the busy and lively Akaretler area. Staff with great knowledge and smiling faces with exceptional service makes this hotel a true gem in the middle of Istanbul literally close to everything. Highly recommended, thanks for your hospitality
We had a very nice stay amazing service and great food and hygiene. The location is very nice and close to Nisantasi and dolma pacha. This is my second time in the same hotel and will come again for sure. The waiters are so nice make sure you see Sinem such a nice person.
Service, food, and staff was 5! The staff was very friendly, efficient, and attentive. Buse was amazing and made our stay very enjoyable. The facility, as others have mentioned is pretty dated with old carpets and furnitures. The rooms smelled musky and were dimly lit. Also, the noise from the neighboring bars as well as the hotel garden parties were very very loud, late into the night. Will rate the hotel rooms and location a 3.
My wife and I stayed at the W Istanbul for 5 nights at the end of May. I am a Marriott Titanium member with over 1700 nights spent in properties under the Marriott brand, including quite a number of different W hotels. I say this to show that I am not an inexperienced traveler with unreasonable expectations. The few positives of our stay were that the front desk, restaurant and concierge staff were extremely friendly and helpful and that the bed was very comfortable (and soft, which we like). However, the W Istanbul is the most tired and poorly maintained W I have ever stayed at and it has been a long time since I’ve stayed at any hotel with the number of issues I experienced here. Among the many issues we experienced: one of the bedside lamps flickered like a strobe light, the light in the magnified mirror in the bathroom didn’t work, one of our two bathroom sinks dispensed only hot water, the other sink leaked from the handle forming a puddle on the counter whenever the sink was used, the furniture was tired/worn, the carpet worn and the room is intentionally extremely dimly lit. Most of the mechanical issues were fixed as we complained of them. On our first eventing, as we got into bed around midnight and tried to turn off the lights, we couldn’t. I tried the many switches in the room, but none turned off the lights. We called down and a mechanic spent until 1:15am on a ladder in our room working on the electrical until he was able to get the light switches working. One final irritation was that I was booked on a group rate and had received confirmation from the hotel, in writing by email, that my rate would qualify for all Marriott Bonvoy benefits including points and stay credit. This was confirmed again about a week prior to my stay. Had they told me that this rate wouldn’t qualify, I would have booked a regular rate, which wasn’t much more at the time I booked. When I arrived at the hotel, they told me that the sales staff had given me the wrong information and that my rate didn’t qualify for points and stay credit and that there was nothing they could do about it. They later gave me some points for the “misunderstanding”, but not the stay credit or sufficient points to fully compensate me for what I would have received had the rate qualified. I twice asked to speak with the hotel manager, the second time being assured that he would contact me by phone or email. Two weeks later I’m still waiting. So, management doesn’t care either.…
We went there in June 2022 with friends. First of all dont think ths as a grand resort or a huge hotel. It was an historical building converted to a hotel so the hotel has limitations for exterior changes. The entry was classy disco themed with lights in dark and shining glasses. The staff was smart, amazing, and fast in responding. We can contact them in hotel via our watsapp and they reply promptly. The staff was speaking English very well, so language was not an issue. The rooms are a bit small but i liked its interiors Besiktas is the area to stay in and W is in heart of Besiktas. Everything was nearby...pubs, craft beer, coffee, pizzas and many more. They only point to improve was the spread of Veg breakfast. We didnt find many options for Veg bfast but eggs helped us to fill our tummies. But to conclude, we njoyed a lot at W. Thanks…
The W Hotel Istanbul is true to the hip vibe of W Hotels elsewhere. Our room was located on the first floor and was a good size for two adults; we had a nice outdoor terrace area that allowed us to bring in the fresh outside breeze. The layout had the toilet, shower, and washbasin areas segregated, commonly found in European bathroom layouts. If you like the nightclub dim light ambiance, you will feel at home; all areas---rooms, hallways, and dining areas had low lighting. However, I found the lighting to be too dim; I prefer well-lit, bright sunny spaces. Special merit to the team that provides guests with service through the hotel's Whats App Chat. My questions were answered very quickly and the team provided great recommendations. The team also had great command of English; this is great for those with no language skills in Turkish. Dennis, at the reception desk also deserves special mention. He always had a smile and greeted guests warmly as they passed by the desk. His English is excellent and he epitomizes what guests staying at a luxury hotel would expect, providing courteous and diligent service. He answered and resolved my issues promptly and professionally.…
My second time in Istanbul and I wish I would have known of this Hotel. Service is impeccable, beautiful rooms, excellent temperature control (not a given with air conditioning in all hotels), great breakfast at buffet or a la carte. The most impressive thing about this hotel? The staff. Friendly, welcoming, they go out of their way to make you happy. A greeting smile from Farik and Sinem at breakfast is the perfect start of the day. Amazing country but more importantly amazing people
