The positives of this hotel far outweigh the negatives. Positives:- 1. Excellent management (Lynn a former American) and customer service eg. when a last-minute booking for a return visit went astray, Lynn checked other nearby hotels to find us accommodation for us nearby. 2. The breakfast - superior to any other breakfasts we had in out Turkey stay. 3. Location...

The best thing about the hotel is the location, stones throw away from Blue mosque. The walk to the hotel gives you chance to meander among the diff lanes and explore small cafes, touristy shops, and some really good resturants and grocery stores if need be! The B&B itself is clean and really comfortable. The service was amazing and the...

We really could not have asked for a better place to stay. When we desperately contacted the Apricot Hotel at short notice due to a stay at a terrible hotel nearby, the owners could not have been more helpful. We booked a room immediately, they sent one of the lads by foot to come pick us up (at no charge)...

Spent a total of 4 nights in the Apricot Hotel and two nights in the apartment (Apricot Seaside) in August, 2010. One adult, and two teens. Here are the highlights: Staff: Extremely helpful. I have stayed in motels and hotels all over Europe, Asia, US/Canada/Alaska/Hawaii, etc and have only one experience that can compare. When my 18 yo son became...

We stayed at the Apricot for five nights in July and enjoyed our stay very much. The hotel's location in Sultanhamet is very convenient to the main sights, and it's nicely situated on one of the prettier and quieter streets in the area. The thing that stood out most to us, though, was the incredibly friendly staff who really wanted...

I stayed at the Apricol Hotel for 9 days in May and could not have had a more delightful experience. Goksel at the front desk was unfailingly helpful and polite from the very first moment when I made my reservations in January, and he and Cem and Aisa went out of their way during my whole stay to help me...

We spent 5 nights here. It was a perfect location at an excellent price for a verybig city! Our hosts were most helpful and pleasant always eager to provide assistance and suggestions for our visit to Istanbul. The breakfast was particularly good and we often enjoyed a glass of wine in the window seat at the end of a long...

I stayed here at the beginning of my trip. this was at first glance what i expected for a hotel in the old quarter. however, my room was not in the hotel. the manager took me to what they call Apricot Seaside. which was a 5-10 minute walk through twisty, turny streets. forget using a map it won't help- the...

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighborhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
