It was a very nice experience, the house is near all the important turistic points that are to be seen in Istanbul, everything was clean and the personal was very kind and took care of every demand. I kindly recommend you this location and also the staff that is taking care of the place:)
1. Great location! Few mins walk away from the Blue mosque + Hagia Sophia. 2. Amazing, humble owners who were very inviting when we checked in, gave us a map and recommended places to visit. Throughout our journey they went out of their way to make reservations for us and suggest places. 3. Amazing breakfast + view. 4. Cleanliness - we would go out in the day and upon returning in the evening, our room would be so clean, as though we were checking in for the first time.
For almost 3 years now I am in Istanbul every 2 months and I have tried several guesthouse and hotels in Sultanahmet. Tulip is by far the nicest place. Cozy, friendly and very clean, at a reasonable price. Since I discovered them, in December 2017, I've brought there several friends, they all loved it here. You feel very safe (as the front door is locked all the time, but someone opens for you 24/7) and you feel like part of a family. Looking forward to my next visit.
I stayed in this place for 1 night. I loved all things about that , quick check in ,lovely rooms, lovely breakfast all turkish style lots of differences food at breakfast time . Building is small but very cute . Staff can speak english very well .They gave me map and introduce me old city istanbul... Ahmet and Esin are so kind to help me everything about my istanbul trip .. I will recommend to everyone .here is family run place Thank you .see you next.
I stayed in this hotel for a night, and I am fully aware of its condition..no elevators, small room/house, and I am aware that it is a guesthouse and not a hotel. However, I am not expecting that they would take cash instead of credit card, since most accommodations worldwide now accepts Visa or Mastercard. But to avoid any issue, I just withdrew cash. Everything went on smoothly and I even gave them a rating of 8.0 and said I will recommend the place. However, the owners doesn't seem to know how to take criticisms well. I mentioned I am physically fit, and dont mind climbing the stairs with heavy luggage. I only mentioned that if there were old people who would like to check in, how are they going to do it? The owners replied ONLINE by stating I it is hot a hotel and I should know the difference between a hotel and a guesthouse..and that I should have read the description before booking! Such rude an uncivilized way of explaining to guests. They could have just said if they were senior citizens, they should be advised not to to book here. I am not even complaining but just making a comment. If they are unable to accept negative comments then they shouldn't be in the hotel business AT ALL! I also mentioned paying by cash which is inconvenient for me but good for them. What I mean is that it is good for them since they don't have to connect the terminals and the burden is on me to get the money to pay. Their response was it is not "high season" when I stayed. What is the relationship between those things? If they accept credit cards they should accept it regardless. They even responded with "How is it good for us?" I guess they don't really understand English much cause they misinterpreted what I said. But again, in the hotel business where you deal with customers, its not a good thing to be sensitive and onion-skinned. There will always be customers who will not be 100% satisfied and they should not take that personally. But reading their responses to other guests, they are indeed RUDE if they are not given a perfect rating of 10! What's worse, they post these rude responses online for everyone else to see, and the booking website is helpless in removing those comments. I would not have any complaint during my stay if not for this response they posted to my comments. I would avoid this so-called "guesthouse" when I return to Istanbul. There are so much, much more choices in this great city.…
