Unfortunately, I was surprised that this hotel takes a $100 mortgage on some chocolate in the fridge, knowing that I was blocking the room within a group and they didn't agree to give us the rooms until they took the mortgage. I tried to give them the passport instead of the money, and they also refused. I tried to empty the refrigerator, and they refused too. I don't know why this insistence!!!!
I booked the standard room during my stay. I knew before booking the room that it has one single window that faces a wall. I had no problem with that. The issue is that the bathroom is small, has a sewage smell, has no window, and the shower is not well lit. The room door faces the second elevator of the hotel, and is near the stairs where people/the staff smoke. Luckily for me, the second elevator was out of service during my stay. It had been fixed for one day during which people used it heavily (imagine the noise: people talking - kids shouting, etc). Note: the second elevator is big compared to the first elevator which fits two persons (+ three pieces of luggage). The room that the hotel gave me was on the fifth floor (the terrace restaurant is on the sixth floor). The restaurant opens around 7:30 AM. At 7 AM you can hear the loud music coming from the restaurant. The breakfast was relatively good: a waiter brings your coffee, if you want to order another type of coffee, you have to pay! The food is prepared in advance (the pastry and cheese options are always the same, they change the “salty” breakfast options every day). The restaurant staff are nice. I did not like the ones who work at the reception, they do not smile, ask you if you had a nice stay/ask you how they can help with your trip, etc, with one exception: an employee who carried our luggage and booked our cab (yellow taxi - the driver used the taximeter - ₺270) back to the airport - a tall bald guy who speaks good English). The hotel has an unusual deposit policy: you need to give $/€ 100 as a deposit when you check in and they send someone to check if you used the mini bar during your stay when you check out in order to give you back your deposit. One final positive note about the hotel: it is close to Taksim metro station and all sorts of restaurants and shopping stores. …
Istanbul Excellent location. Short walk to public transport and restaurants. Is well compensated by a variety of restaurants, cafes, bakeries and small grocery stores which are located within a 5 minute radius of the hotel. Excellent staff, especially Emrullah hi is really friendly and ready to help and answer questions.
As a hotel it has good elements: Stylish, clean, centrally located. This is where the good news ends: Τhe reception staff has an unacceptable attitude, almost ιn the edge of rudeness. Not just one of them ! At this level, you can't just tell to a -polite- customer "take it or leave it" and ... throw the credit card on the table. Question! Finally does the hotel have a complaint form or not? Because it was requested but not delivered
Stairs in AkkaLush for 5 nights in June. It is unbelievable non comfort hotel for business, You could never sleep here!!! Every evening and night music from around restaurant and club . Hotel personnel even not tried to solve problem, they just take your money that’s it. 5 sleepless nights with no help. As for disposition of the hotel - it is ok. Breakfast are medium quality.

I highly recommend the Turkish bath in Akka Lush. The staff are very friendly especially Emrullah, he is so friendly and helpful.
Emrullah was very helpful and kind in assisting us. Breakfast was decent and location was pretty convenient. In between Taksim square and Istiklal street. The only thing was that staff should be more trained in English………………………………………..
Great hotel with a great location near Taksim Square and Istiklal Street. The staff was very nice and Emrullah was very helpful and nice. Everyone always smiled. There was a really good atmosphere. Clean and modern hotel. Breakfast was excellent and the view from the restaurant was beautiful. I would like to return here on my next visit to Istanbul.
