Great location in old Istanbul. Small family owned hotel. My favourite thing about this hotel was the warm welcome and care received from the owners. Breakfast in particular was a great start to the day where the host generated conversation with and between the guests to give a lovely chatty and friendly start to the morning. They looked after airport taxi but also gave us some tips on some lesser known sights that we would never have seen otherwise. The service was excellent and the hotel was great value for money.
We stayed for 2 nights with our baby. It was a very pleasant stay nicely located close to sultan Ahmet mosque. The room was okay and clean exactly what we were looking for. Hostess very friendly and helpful definitely recommend this hotel. If you are looking for clean and cheap hotel at a good location.
Absolutely loved it. Great location close to everything and easy access to the ferries and waterfront plus Gurnel, the lady who runs it, is soooo friendly. Honestly if you're looking for a slightly out of the way place which takes you back to the 1950's in terms of gentle, breeze in the curtains pleasure it is for you.
Very friendly personal , will come back again ! Breakfast was enough Rooms are very clean and in good condition. Very quiet place , nearby tram station T1 and Sultanahmet place. * Çok tesekkür ederim !
The room was very comfortable and the people who work there are very kind and helpful. It's situated in a very good place where there are many restaurants and you can walk to a lot of touristic spots.
The bedrrom was nice but the bathroom was too small but quite enought for two days. The breakfast and service were very good. People are very kind. We enjoy the two days we spent there and may be we will come back.
We were coming in early in the morning exhausted from a few days trip in Israel. As soon as we arrived, Ahmed, the manager was very welcoming and offered us some tea. It didn't take long before we could settle in. The streets outside were of cobblestone I felt like I was in one section of Brussels, Belgium. The room was just right for our use. Lots of running water with hot and cold shower. The downside is that I had to walk a flight of stairs and no room was available on the ground floor. The room was impeccably clean.
It was friendly but the furniture etc very old and partly broken, bathroom smelly and breakfast very simple (instant coffee eg). Also the transfer fee for airport (55,- Euro each way) was too high. Location was good though but we don’t know how the guesthouse could get auch high ratings.
We stayed in a family room (2 adults, 0 children, but we wanted a living space) for 4 nights at the start of May and had a really good stay. The guest house is comfortable, clean and the staff are really friendly- they were really helpful with tips and suggestions and kindly let us leave our bags on the last day when we had an evening flight. Breakfast was Istanbul style, with lots of choice (bread, fruit, muesli, yogurt, tahini, olives, treacle, boiled eggs, cold meats, cheese etc) and although it was the same every day we enjoyed it every time (try dipping bread in tahini with treacle mixed in- so good!). Our room was a good size with a comfortable bed. Towels were changed every day and they changed our sheets half way through our stay too. The bathroom and shower were pretty small which may be a problem for some people but didn't bother us. The location was really good, with 2 restaurants on the street and lots more very close by. Its also only 10 minutes walk to the Blue Mosque/ Hagia Sophia and the area feels very safe. The street itself is a little shabby, but we felt it added to the charm of the area! We'd definitely return- you can't beat this spot for friendliness and good value for money.…
Hello, We had a nice family holiday at this B&B. The location is great, 5 minutes walk from the Blue Mosque and the Basilica of St. Sophia. the rooms are comfortable and clean. Breakfast is simple but good (coffee, bread, salad, cold cuts, cheese ...). The staff is great. We took the shuttle offered by the B & B and everything went smoothly. As soon as we arrived, Gonul prepared the coffee and showed us all the sights to visit with the different means of transport. There is also Issa who was very friendly and answered all our questions. The day before the departure Issa even called for us the airline to have more information and confirm our place of departure. Once arrived home, I realized that I had forgotten my photo album. I warned the management and they sent me my photo album at home :-) the value for money of this B & B is great. We would like to thank the whole team "Ahmet Efendi Evi" for your generosity. On the next trip to Istanbul, we will return home without hesitation. The Wala family…
