I stayed there for a week, last week and let me just say it has been one of the best experiences I've had. The staff is ABSOLUTELY the best, they were so helpful and nice the whole time, thank you for everything! The hotel itself is gorgeous! The best combination of old and new. If I ever get the chance to go back to Istanbul I wouldnt hesitate to stay there again!
We have stayed in a few hotels in Istanbul, but this one is definitely a keeper. The staff was fantastic and accommodating, from the pickup at the airport, to recommendations, to great service and attention in the restaurant. Very friendly. The location is also perfect, just steps from the Galata Bridge, you are centrally located to all of the key sites, from Taksim Square to the Hagia Sophia, it is all easily walkable from this hotel (We're in our 50s and had no problems). Definitely look forward to returning on our next visit to Istanbul!
Smart hotel in "up and coming neighbourhood" very near to the tram and bridge over to main tourist sites etc Friendly staff who welcomed us with a glass of fizz and booked a couple of great restaurants for us Good breakfast and comfy rooms but we were "downgraded" to a smaller room than we paid for which was very frustrating/disappointing and were just told the hotel was full and all rooms were different (all be it our room was the one on their website as a basic room and we had paid for a deluxe !?!?
Beautiful hotel, excellent location, can walk to old town but in middle of Galata with great restaurants and shopping literally on doorstep. Guest services team could not do enough for us, booking restaurants, organising tours and taxis.
YOu have to see it to believe how beautifully they have restored a bank building into a boutique hotel. Everything from the lobby to the room ooze charm and character. Do certainly check out the magnificent VAULT chambers near the lobby cafe. LOCATION: Excellent location right next to the Bosphorous and easy access to all parts of town DINE + DRINK: Sweet Lobby level bar and cafe. But don't bother dining or drinking at the hotel, as you are just a stone's throw away from plenty of local F & B joints right outside the hotel. ROOM: We stayed in 118, so this review is based on that; VIEW: Sweet view of the Cathedral and alley behind; SIZE: Very spacious room; AIR-CON: Perfectly functioning cooler that helped in setting the perfect room temperature; BED: Comfortable bed that played the expected part to put me to sleep; BATHROOM: Stand in shower; TOILETRIES: Lovely spa-quality cosmetics FACILITIES: Compact Gym with a basic range of weights and Cardio machines SERVICE: Friendly staff that took care of all our needs with a smile and made us feel pampered and well taken care of. Special Shout out to SALAR- the sweet Iranian lady at the front office, who went above and beyond to help us with all kinds of special requests! HOW WIRED YOU WILL BE: Free high-speed Wi-Fi that works well all over the property. Big Plasma TV screen dishing out dozens of channels spanning sports, news, music, movies and a wide variety of entertainment in multiple languages…
This hotel is located very central just a few meters away from all the shops and bars. Galata Bridge and Galata Tower are just around the corner. The hotel is super beautiful, very modern and super clean. Staff is extraordinary nice and engaged. We will come back for sure
I believe this hotel is about as good as you can get in an unfortunate city like Istanbul. It is 5 stars ONLY in that context. In NYC or London or Paris — or Cleveland, for that matter — it would be a generous 3. I stayed in a superior double bed room that was all bed… very little room to maneuver beyond that. View onto a scruffy side street, but at least reasonably quiet. The noise came from above me. This converted bank was not built for staying in overnight. Thus the soundproofing is non-existent. You hear EVERY step your upstairs neighbor makes. Think of your first apartment after college and you’ll know what I mean. It’s so loud and annoying, the moving around woke me up every night. No tissues… you must use toilet paper that is free form… no holder. Very, very down market amenities. Rooms extremely warm and stuffy and controlled by hotel, so plan on getting a table fan in order to breathe One small bar/sort of restaurant with very, very, very limited options. Appetizers or meze taste like packaged products. The supposed kitchen prepared the lamb shoulder I had one evening and it consisted of very, VERY little lamb, and mostly pita chips in an oily, tasteless sauce. Tomato salad was cut tomato’s c cucumbers and onions— no dressing, no oil, no vinegar, no seasoning, no nothing! Staff is OK, but I think this hotel, like so many in the Middle East and Europe, and increasingly North America, is run by and geared to the standards and demands of south Asian visitors… hence HOT, HOT rooms, lower level amenities and careless and cost-cutting housekeeping and customer service. Still, if you’re in the hell that is Istanbul, this place is better than most.…
A very nice hotel used to be a bank in the ottoman time. Rooms are very clean staff is wonderful and very nice especially the manager Usman and his coworkers at the reception. The breakfast was very good also and all the staff were very nice especially Yasin he goes out of his way to help the gusts to enjoy the relaxing atmosphere
My wife and I were in town for holiday and to get a few practical things done. The staff at Bank Hotel were excellent from the start. They helped us arrange several visits n reservations and called a few companies on our behalf. We commend them on their patience - as we asked a lot of them. The hotel is beautiful, less than 10 rooms per floor (4 floors in all). Very tastefully appointed. The location is excellent. Set at the edge of Karakoy near the Galata bridge (close to Karakoy tram stop). So we could walk or take the T1 tram to most places we needed to go. The only complaint we had was that the room was a bit warm with no way to cool it down in Winter. The staff got us a fan right away… problem solved. The manager - Sahar - was remarkably friendly and helpful. She made it truly feel like home away from home. Finally the Salon Galata is a homely cafe / restaurant right next door with excellent food and very good service. We felt very fortunate to have picked this hotel for our choice of stay in Istanbul. We will be back again to the Bank Hotel. …
This is my third time staying at the Bank Hotel in Istanbul! I will never stay anywhere else except at the Bank! Amazing rooms, chic hotel, the staff are wonderful - especially Sahar, Usman, Mehmet and others who make our stay so wonderful! The first time I stayed at the Bank Hotel was in 2020 with my sisters. The staff treated us so well, they gave us good recommendations and made us feel so special. I stayed the 2nd time in 2021 by myself, they made sure I was comfortable and they tended to my every need. They go all out to make us feel so special. I recommend this hotel b/c the staff are wonderful, the location is great, the hotel is historic yet modern at the same time. I recommend this hotel ❤️
