Very nice stay at the beautiful Heritage property in the centre of Istanbul, Warm and friendly staff. Excellent staff members and had great memories exploring the iconic building. Would recommend for your next trip stay at Istanbul.
What an amazing Hotel! So design so well appointed! Luxurious, spacious but with only 62 rooms a gorgeous establishment in Istanbul close to Galata tower. Beautiful bar with a safe to keep the bottles, top service, king size bed, domotic, silent, marble bathrooms… a must do in Istanbul! Fantastic roof bar with top notch cocktails and 180 views on the Bosphorus, Sainte-Sofia, Blue Mosque, Topkapi palace… Serica restaurant is worth the trip with also beautiful views and modern Turkish cuisine to die for. Go to the Bank and enjoy modern Turkish hospitality
I arrived at the hotel early and was greeted by a friendly Porter who took me to the reception desk where I was offered a hot drink while I was checked in. the friendly reception staff gave me lots of information about the hotel. As I was early my room was not ready ( not that I expected it to be) so the Porter stored my luggage and I was told my room would be ready by 2pm. I returned to the hotel around 2:30pm, and was greeted again by the friendly Porter who offered me tea while he got my luggage and then took me to my room. Discussing the history of the hotel on our way. The room was breathtaking, I loved how beautiful the room had been restored, and the hotel in general. The personal touches made my stay extra special, the beautiful chocolates and small gift left in the room were appreciated. The espresso machine was also a lovely touch, as were the loccitane toiletries. I enjoyed a wonderful meal in the lobby bar. The breakfast was lovely, a good selection on the buffet plus the menu choices were excellent, the menemen was particularly very tasty. I was surprised tho at the extra charge for Turkish coffee. Also I absolutely loved the roof bar, however it was only open one night out of my stay due to bad weather. The bar staff at the roof bar were extremely friendly and talented, making me very enjoyable drinks, and friendly conversation. I look forward to returning in the spring when the weather is better to enjoy the roof bar and amazing views. I used the steam room and sauna which were pleasant although very small. The location is great, close to Galata tower, and very close to the Tünel tramway and also the Karaköy ferry’s making for great access to the city. It was an absolute pleasure to stay at The Bank Hotel. Nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff. I look forward to returning soon to enjoy the wonderful ambience of a truly stunning hotel. Thank you…
My husband and I had the most wonderful stay at this lovely hotel in January 2023. Right from the moment we entered we were greeted with smiling faces, everybody so welcoming and helpful and this continued right through our stay. Ussman and his front office team always went out of their way to assist, the F&B staff were wonderful, housekeeping excellent! The cleanliness of the rooms and bathrooms was impeccable. Menus were small but each and everything we ate both in the lobby bar and restaurant and upstairs at the Serica, were delicious and beautifully presented. The staff at both restaurants were so friendly and helpful. The spa was a delight! The hotel is beautiful in itself, its architecture and decor, but it is its staff that is its strength and shines through it all. All in all The Bank Hotel made our one week stay in the glorious city of Istanbul a most memorable one! Thank you! We will definitely be back!…
My boyfriend upgraded our room to an "Executive Suite" and upon checking in and previewing our room, we have never been more disappointed. The room had the worst view of another buildings roof, reeked so badly of cigarette smoke, was extremely small and had a terrible layout. In no way shape or form was this the type of room we expected or what was shown as the "Executive Suite" on their website. We would have preferred a standard room over this room. After complaining multiple times, the manager agreed to switch our room the following day. Due to the inconvenience of having to stay in that room overnight with the intense smell and move again in the morning, we feel something more could have been done other than give us the room we originally booked. However, I will say the new room was much better and was more of what we expected. The hotel itself and rooftop are very nice. The location of this hotel is also amazing! …
We were in Istanbul for a 5 days. We stayed in a 4 star hotel in Fatih area and the hotel wasn’t 4 star at all! After visiting Cappadoccia we ended our stay at The Bank hotel. We were welcomed by a really helpful receptionist given a welcome drink and he explained everything in detail. We had complimentary chocolates in the room and a souvenir of Istanbul. Rooms are equipped with coffee pods tea and water. Room was really comfy. Toiletries Occitante products so we ended our holiday really in style. Highly recommend will surely be back
The most magical experience we’ve had in a long time. Breathtaking roof top bar and views. Absolute luxury. The staff was so warm and thoughtful. Our room was perfect. The architecture of the hotel blew us away. Perfectly located. We cannot wait to be back.
Overall, the hotel doesn’t qualify as a 5 stars hotel in my view, I do a lot of traveling and usually stay at Marriott properties. Some of the positives: The hotel has a very good location close to the tram & historical areas. They have restored an old bank into a boutique hotel and have done a great job at the Interiors. We stayed in superior and deluxe rooms which were small but luxurious, house keeping was good although they just put one bottle of water a day which is very little. Breakfast spread was limited but good quality, they can do with some more variety so it doesn’t get boring if you’re staying for a week or so. You can only get tea/black coffee included in the breakfast price, a cappuccino is an additional charge which is such a strange policy in a 5 stars hotel. Never seen this before!! On the service/ hotel staff side, this is where I would rate them very poorly. For a 5 stars hotel, I was surprised to see they don’t offer any local transportation support, they don’t have any local taxi arrangements and the concierge/bell boys just stand outside the hotel and are no help if you need to hail a cab or explain anything to the driver. Hotel staff at the reception are not helpful and boarderline rude. As a gold elite Bonvoy member, they should show a little bit more attention and willingness to help, unfortunately there was non of that. Since we had an afternoon flight out, we asked early on via emails and in person to have one of our rooms extended for a couple of hours as late check out. Simple request I thought! They kept pushing the request out to the last day “to check availability” which made our last day planning harder to do. They confirmed adding the request on their system and never did. They never followed up with me or provided any updates. Finally on check out, the staff member at the reception just said they don’t have availability without asking my room number or even checking on the system! Rude and unapologetic about how they handled my request from the beginning, acting as if it were my fault to have such an unrealistic request!! This is literally the first Marriott hotel I stay at where I’m not asked during check out about my stay and whether it was a good one, they simply don’t care! This interaction was enough for us to decide not to return again to this Marriott. In a city like Istanbul, there are so many other hotels to choose from so keep looking. There is a JW Marriott close by which would be a better option in the future. It’s such a shame that the service level takes away from what could be a luxury & modern hotel!…
We've enjoyed a 5-day break here in mid-November, 2022. This is truly a magical place. The hotel is exceptionally well-designed and very well-managed. It is very clean, and I still remember the smell of their unique perfume d'ambiance (a mix of spices and green tea). The location is fantastic as well. It is a 15-20min walk to the Grand Bazaar and the major historical sights of Istanbul. It is a 5min walk to Galata Tower and a 7min walk to the heart of Karakoy, a vigorous and gentrifying neighborhood in Instanbul. Likewise, one spends approx. 10 minutes while getting to Galataport Instabul shopping mall. Regarding the rooms, we stayed in Penthouse. TRULY A TERRIFIC EXPERIENCE. The view from the terrace and the in-built bathroom is just breathtaking. The room was carefully managed and smelled great, too. Amazing furniture and supreme interior design. I also want to thank the reception team. Guys, you are simply the best. Exceptionally professional and efficient at special requests. Unfortunately, I did not ask their names so I cannot refer to specific people. I also want to thank our transfer driver, Halil, for the professional and efficient service and great manners. …
Mr Halil and the team of assistants provided efficient, comfortable, friendly and speedy service for our transfer from Istanbul international arrivals into the Galatea area of the city. Lots of WhatsApp messages In the days and hours before made us feel very secure about being met at airport and all instructions for finding our transport were easy to follow. Our plane was one hour late and they followed our flight and reassured us they would be waiting. Mr Halil was friendly, spoke impeccable English! and drove carefully to our destination. Very happy!
