Super friendly staff, helpful, they do anything in order to make you feel comfortable. Free coffee, tea, and water 24/7. I booked my room for a week, and I had a decent experience with them. If I got a chance to visit Istanbul again in the future, this hotel will be my first choice with no doubt.

Not only is this hotel is located in Ortakoy, which is very close to many attractions in Istanbul, but also it is in the mid-upper class part of the city, which makes a tourist feel more comfortable as it is less crowded (than Sultanahmet). I also personally felt safer in this part of the city than in Sultanahmet area (just...

I was in Aysem Sultan this October for almost a week. The place is small, but located in a very lively area in Bishektash. I liked this hotel, the staff are polite and friendly and indeed helpful. It is very safe. Like every establishment of this size and star rating it can use some improvement, yet the good points far exceed...

I unfortunately had an unpleasant experience at this place. For starters I had to wait for the room to be ready after 1pm. I was put in a small cramped roomed that was dirty, had stains on the sheets and chair with a broken shower head holder and wires coming out of the wall. I was then upgraded to a...

Staying in Besiktas

Neighborhood Profile
Besiktas
In Besiktas, skyscrapers compete with palaces for space in an upscale vista replete with hilly green parkland filling in the margins. Step into this rather wealthy neighborhood and discover a rich mix of opportunities to shop, dine, and be entertained. For folks in search of urban buzz, not to mention a constant reminder of just how important Istanbul’s waterways are to its rich history, there's the frenetic Besiktas ferry terminal or the city’s most vibrant fish market to explore. For a timeout of metropolitan proportions, head to the bucolic Yildiz Park or the chic Bosphorus-side fishing village of Ortakoy. Attractions such as the grandiose Dolmabahce Palace and a bevy of other stately residences await admiration. To be sure, this large and not overly touristy swath of Istanbul yields plenty of pleasure for all.
