stayed for a week in this lovely welcoming little hotel in march 2014. reception staff are warm and friendly, the reception itself doubles up as a small tour desk and even has a tiny lending library. there is also a little café serving meals until quite late at night should you not wish to venture further afield. the location cannot be bettered, as it is just a stones throw from the hippodrome and the main tourist area and the price is very reasonable. the hotel appears to be brand new, as the rooms and furniture are in tip top condition. rooms are fairly small, although that is to be expected in somewhere of that size and price. if you want a comfortable, friendly hotel with ambience, right in the middle of town and at a bargain price, then this is the place for you. check it out!!

I stayed in this hotel for five nights with family. The room we got was spacious and there was also a big private balcony.
The shower worked very well. However the bathroom was small. It is a minor issue as I have only medium build.
The tv and AC worked well and the cleaning lady did a good job of cleaning up every day. There was a mini market nearby. However we realized it was expansive to buy drinks here compared to super market near by.
The hotel is in a great location just one block from Hippodrome . During our stay we walked to all attractions in Sultanhmet square from hotel.
The breakfast was the same every day but it was good. The staff at reception were helpful during our stay.
I recommend this hotel wholeheartedly.

Be careful there. They will charge you extra money for their service if you ask them for help. Don't ask them. It's better to do everything by yourself. They charged me with 90lira for laundry and they said it's 30-35lira so I gave them 50 instead. They asked for 90 lira when i checked out and they said i didn't pay them anything. Just be too careful. The sheets where too bad even if i asked them to change them. Don't trust the photos provided. They even wanted tp cheat us and give us a bad room not the standard. I won't recommend it.

This is a small but extremely well located hotel in the Sultanahmet district. Just a stones throw from the Blue mosque and within walking distance of the key sights in Istanbul such as Haga Sophia, Topkapi Palace, Basilica Cistern and Grand Bazaar. Also situated closely to shops, restaurants and the metro.
Rooms are basic and no frills, offering complimentary toiletries in the bathroom, hairdryer, towels as well as fridge and safe in the rooms. Cleaning was not up to scratch however with the floor unswept for the duration of the stay.
Staff are extremely helpful and polite.
Overall this is a small budget hotel. If you are looking for somewhere to stay very conveniently located amongst the best sights of Istanbul and are not fussed about mod cons then this hotel would definitely serve your purpose.

We stayed 3 nights and really enjoyed the location of this hotel. We didn't use their transfer service from airport cuz it was in Euro and taxi charged us in Lira which was more affordable. Also we were flying from Cappadocia to Sabiha G airport which is kind a far compare to Main airport. We got their without any problem cuz person who replied our emails send us a very good directions. When we got there Salih helped us with paperwork and he literally sat with us for 30 mind and provides all kind of info, maps, phone number etc etc. We were very impressed by their kindness and hospitality. Next morning we went out used tram service and enjoyed the food and shopping. Everyone was very nice and helpful and kind at the front desk. Actually when one them when heard me coughing got me a warm milk with honey. Thank you so much Dilshad I will always remember your kind gesture. Timeks is a small hotel may be that's why we received personal family attention. Room was very clean and WiFi was great. Every morning Turkish style breakfast was a special treat. Just one suggestion about the shuttle back to airport need to be on time. Driver picked up so many people before getting to the airport, that was very stressful so I will suggest knowing Istanbul airport it's another story take a taxi if possible cuz you don't want to miss international flights back home. Again like to thanks everyone at Timeks hotel for being kind and efficient. Another plus point everyone speak English at the desk. Love to suggest this place and love to go back this place. :) Annie/Sanna from San Francisco USA

Timeks hotel is an excellent value in a terrific location. It is very clean. The breakfast is a traditional Turkish breakfast, quite acceptable. The staff are accommodating of requests, having booked a couple taxis for us (the Bitaksi app is a good one, but its location services are sometimes not accurate due to the narrow streets and lots of stone to interfere with reception). I would highly recommend Timeks as a place to stay. You are just two minutes from the Hippodrome. Excellent restaurants are ~10 minutes walk (avoid the tout driven places along the tramway- the food is ok but you'll find MUCH better options down the hill from Hagia Sophia.)

I've booked and paid 4 nights for a double standard room at this hotel through a travel agency, the reservation was made one month before my trip to istanbul. I've asked a confirmation from them, 3 days before my check-in date, and received the confirmation that everything is ok.
Arriving at this hotel for the check-in, the receptionist told us that our reservation is cancelled in their system, and that there are no rooms available, and that we need to stay at another hotel for the first night at return the next day at the Timeks. I've asked if the room has the same standards as the room in Timeks, and they said "yes". Arriving at the other hotel (200m distance from timeks) they gave a us a room near the reception and right next to the kitchen.I could hear all the people that came to reception, while in the morning at 4AM, I was awakened by the sound of the dishes washed in the kitchen. After this first terrible night they promise to take our luggage to timeks at 2PM when they do the check-in while we visit the city. In that day there was hard rain, and when arrived at Timeks at 2PM, they said that they didn't took our luggage because of the rain. Finally we had to wait for another hour to bring our luggage and provide the room. When we were took to our room, another SHOCK, the room was at the underground level, and when I asked the receptionist what type of room is this, she said ECONOMY! I showed them my voucher from travel agency where I paid for a STANDARD room (this rooms are at the upper level, and have better conditions). They said that they don't have standard rooms available, and that i should contact my agency to do a refund and to recalculate the amount for ECONOMY. OK so I've contacted my travel agency to resolve this issue, and I went to our ECONOMY double room, where I've notice that the ceiling was flooded with water and drip from the morning rain. Returned to the reception to let them know about this problem, and they came with the proposal to provide 2 single economy rooms at underground level, because those were the only one available without being flooded. Anyway we stayed in those rooms where it was a terrible smell of mold. So overall it was a terrible experience at this hotel, that i hope none else will experience. We asked for a refund from the owner through our travel agency but we didn't received any compensation from the hotel until now. Thanks to the hotel management for this terrible experience, hope their business will flourish with this kind of arrangements.

We went for a week in Istanbul, the hotel is ideal in terms of location, price, cleanliness and good service, the hotel is walking distance from all major attractions, would definitely go again, breakfast is standard and we had the same breakfast for the 2 days then we didn't bother. Rooms cleaned everyday. Good night sleep as hotel is in a back street away from all the noise.

First off, the location...walk outside and turn the corner and you are basically in the center of Istanbul, within walking distance to the mosques, the grand bazaar and the underground cistern. I cannot imagine any other hotel, at the reasonable price, to have a better location and that is what staying in Istanbul is all about. Being at the heart of it all, but at the same time tucked away on a lovely cobbled street.
The rooms were comfortable & clean with all new fittings and very well maintained. There was also free wi-fi.
The staff were extremely friendly and were more than happy to help get your bearings.
I would definitely recommend this place, it was like staying at your friend's (very clean & comfortable) house...which just happens to be at the center of everything!

We walked to where the trams are,and walked along main street a way, it was down turning to the left. It confusing when you come out,as it can be nowhere near where you entered,so,have to find ones bearings, it enormous with lots of exits etc. Lots of markets about. Selling usual paraphernalia . interesting. Try lovely cake shop too
I did not book the shuttle with Timeks, but for what I have researched it's pretty much the same price everywhere: 25€ from Ataturk and 55€ from Sabiha Goçken.
hi Lila,
We can place a kettle and coffee in your room if you'd like...what dates were you thinking of booking?
thanks,
Deniz
