The location is very good for taking the tram and Metro. Near to eating places. The room we got was not as per what we booked and as indicated on the net. It was just a small room converted to accommodate 2 adult and 2 children. It was very small, and not soundproof. We can literally hear the music every... More

This is a central location to most areas and is in the "textile" area I think as they're are clothing shops galore. Nevertheless the hotel is quaint but dated. The walls are paper-thin. Our next door neighbors had kids that were were screaming from 6am so not pleasant. We were on the street side and it was lovely to hear... More

We stayed here for 2 nights ( 2 double rooms for the 4 of us) and can say that it was an average experience. The hotel was clean and functional and Breakfast was simple and adequate. The rooms and décor were dark and dimly lit- overall nothing flash really. The worst element was the fact that this hotel was situated... More

Lots of people were telling us to stay in Taksim as it is a trendy area. Im so glad we chose this hotel instead! Its in the old city next to all the attractions you go to Istanbul for. Don't be fooled. The term old city doesn't mean its a slum....quite the opposite. The hotel is 5 mins walk from... More

A nice , centrally located hotel with friendly staff. Ideal for families with children. About 15 minutes walk departure from the Blue Mosque . 150 meters to metro and train. Recommend that you are landing at Attaturk Airport take the metro to the hotel. Tar cirka 20-30 minutes , smooth and cheap. If you have a room towards the hotel... More

Markets itself as a Four Star hotel, but would barely qualify as a Three Star anywhere else. Having said that, room was clean, breakfast was passable and staff were helpful. Was noisy at night, with sound traveling from other rooms and corridors. Wifi seems to keep going down. About 30 minutes taxi drive from airport.

We needed rooms for a one night stay in Istanbul on our way back from a very long trip to Australia and New Zealand and we chose Oran Hotel for its good price, the four stars and the good connection to Ataturk Airport. The hotel itself is good and well maintained, but the neighborhood is not so pleasant. The best... More

Staying in Grand Bazaar

Neighborhood Profile
Grand Bazaar
Tourists, hawkers, and locals come together at the Grand Bazaar to comb its labyrinthine passageways in search of a bargain – be it a pair of brand name jeans, a handcrafted silk rug, or a perfectly brewed cup of tea. Outside the vast bazaar, worn, narrow streets wind their way down from its lofty perch to the southern shore of the Golden Horn, where the evocatively aromatic Spice Bazaar beckons alongside the elegant New Mosque (opened in 1665). Nearby, the famed Galata Bridge offers pedestrian access to urban delights across the river in Istanbul’s more residential and contemporary neighborhoods, while the must-see sights of Sultanahmet are but a leisurely stroll away.
