We stayed two nights at Sumengen hotel last week. This was our second time in two years. We really like the service and personal attention by the reception manager and the staff. The room was nice and clean. There were lot of choices in breakfast. Will stay again!
We stayed here in early December with the family. The restaurant offers amazing views of the Bosphorus strait and Princess Islands. From check in till check out, all of the staff members were eager to assist us especially Kayra Yanık. They planned all our city tours, excursions and dinners at reasonable costs. I would recommend everyone to stay at this place on their vacation to this amazing city.
We had a very great experience staying at Sumengen for 5 nights. All their staffs are very friendly and helpful. Location is excellent. Walking distance to major attractions such as Hagia Sofia, Blue mosque, Topkapi Palace and etc. Reception are extremely helpful. Very attentive when we asked questions and provided all the information we needed. Special thanks to Yasin and Ebnes. We had a wonderful trip in Istanbul. We will definitely stay here again if we come back to Istanbul next time
My daughter and I stayed at the Sumengen for five days, in December 2019. We had a good stay and didn't find fault with anything. The room was nice, the staff were great and we had a large and varied breakfast every day.
It was a WORST hotel I ever stay in! I still couldn’t believe in a 4 stars rating hotel will have these kind of unacceptable attitude staff! - Me and my husband were really excited on this trip as this is our first ever Istanbul trip and we decided to booked this hotel compared to others around the area because of the reviews that we read through. We checked in the room at around 7:15pm and everything went well until we got in the room that assigned to us. Immediately after turning on the ac, we realise the ac was actually faulty and there’s NO AIR coming out from that unit and the ac motor was not moving at all. I called reception and inform him about the issue and he send up his staff to check it out, but hey he’s actually sending his ‘bellboy’ to try to fix the ac which obviously can tell the bellboy know nothing about the ac. After 30-40 mins of the bellboy ‘hard work’ but the ac is still not serviceable and I went down to lobby and asking for a new available room to settle us down as we both are really drained out after a very very long day! He insisted the ac was working well and followed me up to our room and try to fix it. 5mins later and he telling us the ac has been fixed but obviously he was lying as we can’t even feel any air was coming out from that ac. And I’m telling him we are not taking this room as the ac is not working and these issue will make us stay in a room with completely NON-VENTILATION. He yelling at us even with empty rooms available, he’s not going to change us and demanded us to stay in the faulty room until tomorrow morning and we are free to check out and ask for a refund! We booked 5 nights with them through AGODA and he was totally aware about that! We are so pissed off and ran out our patient and I wanted to talk to his General Manager and he replied, ‘Ughhh ughhh you are not going to talk to him! You will just need to stay in this room for the rest 5 nights! I would not change you both to a new empty room even we still have it! All the ac in our room is in the same condition!’ - Guys, seriously my advice to you all, please stay away from this hotel as I really don’t feel any welcoming or friendliness of their staff and the attitude towards their customer is a big NO NO!! And I questioned him is this the way their treated their customer as this is so-called a 4 stars hotel and he replied WE ARE NOT EVEN 4 STARS HOTEL! BTW THE NAME OF THE STAFF SHOULD BE FASIL, FARIL, OR FUSILL IF I’M NOT WRONG!!…
