Excellent location and access to sites and shops. We stayed in a triple with a view to the Bosphorus. Room okay size but they have a hot tub in the room taking up space....very 1980's. Take out the tub and put in a sitting area and could be great! :) :) :) Clean. Safe area. Would stay again.

when I decided my trip in Istanbul, it was quite difficult to find a hotel which responds to our demand, my husband and I. We had planned twelve days in Istanbul, from the end of December until the beginning of January 2016. When we looked at Sümengen Hotel and its review, we were fascinated and of course, we opted for... More

Spent 4 nights at the hotel and really enjoyed it. The staff is very friendly, rooms are very spacious, and the location is unbeatable. There is a very complete breakfast with pastries, cheese, cold cuts, scrambled eggs, etc... My only complaint is that it is a little noisy. The noise is not from the street, but from the guests and... More

We stayed at this hotel at the end of December in room 502. Had a great view of the charming street leading down to the front of the hotel. The room was large, plenty of room to spread out. Breakfast room was on the same floor, this made it easy to stroll over for the wonderful breakfast spread. We took... More

We just spent a week at Sumengen Hotel at the end of December and have been extremely satisfied with our choice. It is in a perfect position, offers great value for money (we paid approx. 100€ per night for a family room) and is a very charming boutique hotel. I had read mixed reviews about it so I feared we... This is an ideal place to stay in Istanbul. It is so well situated; it is within walking distance of so many sites in Istanbul: Blue Mosque, Haga Sophia, Underground Cisterns and Topkapi Palace. There are a lot of restaurants in the area and is very close to Arasta Bazaar. Nice breakfast with lots of tea, a ton of baked... More

We stayed for 1 week in this hotel. Location was great, a few minutes walk to some tourist attractions (blue mosque) as well as the tram station. The rooms were an ok size, they were clean and everything worked properly. Breakfast was delicious and a great range. The staff in the hotel were friendly and very helpful (especially Kerem Erdem... We've just spent here 2 night and we had all in all pleasant stay. The breakfast on the terrace was just perfect with wonderful sea view. Internet was a little slow, but the room and bath was really big and clean. I'll highly recommend this hotel with a great location.

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighborhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
