We found the hotel easily travelling by tram from the airport and were welcomed and settled in in no time. All our questions were answered and we found the room clean and with all facilities just as we would want them. Breakfast was varied and more than adequate for us. A quiet atmosphere pervades this hotel.

We recently stayed in the Zeynep Sultan during our visit to Istanbul. We were delighted by the location, staff, cleanliness and service we received. The breakfast served to us in the morning was beyond anything we had expected and was delicious with a large variety of foods to chose from. We walked to the Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, Topkapi palace,... More

A little tricky to find but friendly locals pointed me in the right direction. I found the staff very welcoming and kind. They were more than happy to answer my questions and tell me about the area. The wifi is great and my single room was lovely and quiet. Bathroom was clean and bed was comfortable. An enjoyable place to... More

Firstly, I should say that choosing this hotel was our first and best decision about our accommodation in Istanbul trip (18-23 march). Although there are lots of hotel nearby in Sultan Ahmed district, several things make the Zeynep Sultan hotel unique. First of all, the general manager “Mr. Erol Celik”, who is always with nice smile, is ready to help... More

Small hotel with friendly service, clean rooms, updated bathrooms. Great breakfast buffet on rooftop, in the shadow of Ayia Sophia. Five minute walk to Sultanahmet Square, the Blue Mosque, Topkapi, Ayia Sophia, the Cisterns or the Hippodrome. A few more minutes to the Spice Bazaar or the ferries.

Choosing this hotel was one of the best decisions we made in our trip to Istanbul. The location of this hotel is just about perfect. We arrived after dark for our first night in Istanbul, and the young men at the hotel were so helpful and friendly. As we checked in, one of them was unloading the van we rode in, and we not sooner got the keys to our room, than our baggage was at our room door. The rooms are not large, but... More

I highly recommend Zeynep Sultan!!! Stayed there several nights with a group from the U.S. It is located in the heart of downtown Istanbul, and many top tourist destinations (including Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque) are within walking distance. What truly differentiates this hotel from others is its amazing staff. Erol (the manager) will take a good care of... More

Staying in Grand Bazaar

Neighborhood Profile
Grand Bazaar
Tourists, hawkers, and locals come together at the Grand Bazaar to comb its labyrinthine passageways in search of a bargain – be it a pair of brand name jeans, a handcrafted silk rug, or a perfectly brewed cup of tea. Outside the vast bazaar, worn, narrow streets wind their way down from its lofty perch to the southern shore of the Golden Horn, where the evocatively aromatic Spice Bazaar beckons alongside the elegant New Mosque (opened in 1665). Nearby, the famed Galata Bridge offers pedestrian access to urban delights across the river in Istanbul’s more residential and contemporary neighborhoods, while the must-see sights of Sultanahmet are but a leisurely stroll away.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The cradle of civilization...Turkey...From Hitites to Urartus, Phrygians to Lycians, from Romans to Seljuks...They all lived here. A city that gave birth to and fostered three glorious empires...The East Roman empire, the Byzantine empire and the Ottoman empire...Once the capital city of these empires, Istanbul is still alive and breathing a mystical blend of air, weary of the contemprary urbanization and cultural clashes. Zeynep Sultan Hotel is where you will blend a magical potion from a Roman hippodrome, an Egyptian obelisque, a Byzantine Church and an Ottoman Grand Bazaar. And maybe you will top it with the Blue Mosque or the Topkapi Palace... ... more   less
