Highly recommend this gem. The owner was very friendly and helpful in not only getting us great rooms with a great view but also with helping to coordinate transfers to/from the airport. Breakfasts were always great on the terrace. Our flight to Kapodokya left early and they even came in early to prepare breakfast two hours before they normally do....

The hotel staff, starting with Mr. Erol Celik, is superb!. Truly caring, warm, friendly, gracious and extremely helpful. I think of the hotel staff as an extension of my family. On this past April, 2017,it is the 12th time my wife and I have stayed at the Zeynep. Love Turkey and the Turkish people. There will be many more times!

I stayed here already 2nd time and next to good breakfast on roof top terrace I enjoyed the central location and good standard of little hotel. Only the rooms could be a little bigger or better configuraded for e. g. cupboards without doors or more possibilities for easy storage.

Stayed here for 6 nights recently. Erol and his team provide a perfect home from home. The restaurant serves a very nice Turkish breakfast, with complimentary tea and cakes served from 5 to 7 pm. The bedrooms are comfortable and quiet - the hotel is on a quiet side street near Gulhane Park.

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighborhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The cradle of civilization...Turkey...From Hitites to Urartus, Phrygians to Lycians, from Romans to Seljuks...They all lived here. A city that gave birth to and fostered three glorious empires...The East Roman empire, the Byzantine empire and the Ottoman empire...Once the capital city of these empires, Istanbul is still alive and breathing a mystical blend of air, weary of the contemprary urbanization and cultural clashes. Zeynep Sultan Hotel is where you will blend a magical potion from a Roman hippodrome, an Egyptian obelisque, a Byzantine Church and an Ottoman Grand Bazaar. And maybe you will top it with the Blue Mosque or the Topkapi Palace... ... more   less
