I stayed in this hotel in November, I have reserved through Booking.com and paid for the stay in cash when I arrived. Everything looked ok, the rooms, the owner was nice,....but after 3 months, in February I noticed that they charged me for the stay again and took my money down from my credit card, the same amount that I...

My husband and I arrived on the 25th of September at Royem Suites, but our reservation via booking wasn't recognized, nor was the payment, settled two months in advance (on the 17th of July). They offered to move us to 'a friend's hotel', but after seeing the location (which didn't have any clean rooms ready at the time) we decided...

Royem suites offers you nice apartments, mine had a kitchen incorporrated, decent and clean place. Rooms is big enough for 2 persons and bathrooms a little too tight. Its very close to Istiklal street, about 4 minutes walking, and also local places nearby. The staff was welcoming and helpful, very hospitable, they offer you coffe, tea, water. They also serve...

We booked this hotel through Booking.com and because of the location of the hotel despite the bad reviews. It is just off Istiklal Caddesi, down a steep road after a car park and 10-15mins walk from the pick up point for Havatas bus to Ataturk and Sabiha Gokcen airports. Payment was taken upon booking which is not a norm for...

We booked this hotel through Agoda. Our expectations were not very high, looking at the reviews. But once we reached, we realised no reviews could match how bad this place was. While checking in, we were told, that they were booked out (despite having a confirmed booking that was made 2 months back). They offered to accommodate us in another...

The hotel is located in a narrow and tall building without elevator. Those who do not enjoy climbing the staircases should ask for a lower floor. I personally prefer to be higher and it didn’t bother me to go up the fifth floor all the time. It is located near the main walking street, where the best shops and eating...

I was so so disappointed with this hotel, it was a tiny cramped room which accommodated me and two friends, sometimes housekeeping wouldn't come for the whole day, the TV wasn't functional, the bathroom was in a very average condition and housekeeping was lousy. It was a 5 min walk to Istiklal which was good. The hotel was on a...

My husband and I reserved at this hotel from the 30th of December till the 2nd of January. We made sure (after many trips to Istanbul last year) to reserve this hotel which is close to Taksim square metro station. When we arrived there, they took us to another building (15 minutes walk from the location they posted on booking.com)...

There is no elevator. Hwvr the man (who looked like George Clooney) assisted me well. :) The hotel is situated in the lower end of the street from the main tourist Istiklal Blvd. However in the night once the clubs get going, the music can be heard faintly in the room. There are very few English channels on the TV....

Staying in Beyoglu

Neighborhood Profile
Istanbul’s most famous street, pedestrianized Istiklal Caddesi (Independence Avenue), throbs day and night and offers a fantastic array of architectural sights, shops, treats, and throngs upon teeming throngs of people. At the avenue’s northeastern end is expansive Taksim Square, thought by many to be the very heart of the city, with many of Turkey’s most renowned restaurants and some of Europe’s most happening nightlife in close proximity. In striking contrast, Beyoglu’s less trafficked areas – such as the affluent Cihangir and the antiques district of Cukurcuma – exude Old World charm and provide contemplative calm and splendid diversion via an assortment of cozy cafes, attractive boutiques, and quiet lanes.
