We visited this place October 2015 and really enjoyed our stay here. The location is amazing: all the sightseeings are nearby, tram stop, boat terminal and underground are within walking distance. The rooms are clean, homemade breakfast is really nice and the staff is very friendly. The hotel also organized a transfer from Ataturk airport for us. If we have a...

The staff are very friendly and helpful and the rooms very clean and comfortable. The breakfast is also delicious and includes homemade Turkish food. I highly...

This is a little jewel in a wonderful location in Istanbul, Turkey. The hotel staff was exceptionally helpful and courteous. They were very informative as to where to eat and how to get to attractions. The room was small, but very comfortable and the entire hotel was immaculate. The view from the rooftop terrace is wonderful. The breakfast was very...

Mr. Bird Hotel is a small, clean and nicely decorated hotel, centrally located and very close to the Sirkeci train/tram station and sights such as Hagia Sophia. The rooms were comfy and clean; the personnel super friendly and helped us with ideas on how to get up north or to the airport. The breakfast was OK - we showed up...

We travelled to Istanbul for five days at the beginning of our honeymoon. The hotel is made up of only 12 rooms and is all equipped with European-oriented furniture (we spotted some Provence nuances); we were granted room no. 602, at the sixth and last floor. The extension of the room is very limited: you will basically find one double-bed,...

It is definitely a place I would suggest to all my friends. Obviously I have no friends willing to pay a 5 stars hotel. So it is a good choice for a sort stay in Istanbul. The room were clean, with all basic comfort and a nice design. Personally, I found the room a bit smaller than what I like....

We stayed here for three nights twice on either end of a trip to Cappadocia. On both occasions the service was excellent. They went out of their way to wash our bed linen in hypoallergenic washing detergent as I was having a reaction to linens from other hotels during our travels. The breakfast was lovely, the rooms were clean and...

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighborhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
