We book to stay at this "Hotel" during April 2013. Firstly we were very dispointed with this place as it was not a hotel, it was more like a B&B. If it was advertised like that maybe I wouldnt have been that disappointed. On a positive note, the room and bathroom were very neat and quite modern to my surprise.... More

As the others have already said, you did not expect to check in in an hostel when you arrive so you do not really see the place you will stay in until you have already paied. Anyway, the hotel itself looks nice and new, you get the key to your room and the key to the entrance so that you... More

Thanks to former reviews I already knew, that the hotel is not situated where they claim it is, and after some mail exchange I managed to make them specify it's almost exact placing. It is located on Cömertler street. nr. 3, and not on Demirci Reşit street nr. 1 as they say and where actually the Sinbad Hostel is located.... More

Weird location arrangements. They send you to an address, but when you get there, the staff takes you to another building (an ordinary house without any indication that it’s a hotel) about 500 meters far. Fairly clean and fair for the price charged, but would not consider staying there again. The ‘hotel’ is mostly empty and you can never find... More

We stayed in Baklava for 5 nights in a triple room. The rooms are quite small, but furnished very nice and with everything you need. Everything was new and very clean (they only clean the room when you ask to, but do it very neatly then). They offer free breakfast at Sindbad Hostel, which is located a 5 minutes walk from... More

Baklava hotel is great for the value - it's a no frills hotels with clean, comfortable rooms. There is one person manning the reception area, but dont' except any help with maps/trip planning etc. Breakfast is actually over at Sinbad Hostel, which is more of a traveler-friendly place with luggage storage, travel advice, etc. The only downside for Baklava is... Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighborhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
