Hotel Coliseum is an absolute treasure, located right in the middle of Sultanahmet with beautiful views and very reasonable prices. But the absolute best aspect of Hotel Coliseum is the owner and staff -- they are incredibly helpful and kind, always going out of their way to make sure your experience is the best possible, and also have a great... Very nice and cozy hotel just few minutes walking from SultanAhmet square. Friendly and helpful staff, and a lovely terrace from where you can see the sunset on the Marmara sea. Ask at the lobby for any gppood advice.

A gem of a hotel located about a 5 min walk from the Hippodrome and historic sites in Sultanahmet. The hotel has a lovely terrace which overlooks the Hippodrome and Blue Mosque and some of the rooms have a lovely view of the sea. The breakfast is included in the room rates and the spread is lavish. The staff is... More

This is a boutique hotel, so be aware the rooms are quite small but very clean with good extras.Staff is very helpful and if there is a problem, they are on it quickly. Breakfast is very good-lots of variety.

Very welcoming and helpful staff. Hotel well situated in Sultanamet near Istanbul's highlights. Rooms, though small, are very clean and neat with En suite and plenty of free accessories. The Terrace area pleasant. Breakfasts are very nice!

This hotel was in a good location and the staff were very friendly but when we went to check-out we were told that the price on booking.com was wrong. On booking.com the price was incl of tax but the hotel reception said it was excl so we had to pay the 'extra.' We've never had a problem with Booking.com and... More

The stay at Coliseum was a birthday gift to my son and his girlfriend - they spent there 6 nights and absolutely loved it! The rooms are very comfortable, beautifully decorated and very clean. The breakfast was a feast, and even for one of them, who is a vegetarian, there was plenty of choice. The views from the window of... More

Just back from 4 night stay at the Coiiseum. Fine little spot, close to all the action in Sultanahmet, clean, polite and helpful staff who could teach hoteliers in the UK a few things about how to run a friendly joint. My room was certainly bijou, but well equipped and grand for my purposes, breakfast a decent spread, usual Turkish... More

Me and my girlfriend stayed here for 5 nights in september 2014. We found the hotel via Internet, and we decided to book it based only on the positive reviews we read about it. All our expectations were met: great location, very friendly staff, very clean and secure rooms, affordable price. It also has a nice rooftop terrace from which... More

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighborhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
