5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 20, 2013

We spent 7 nights at Gezilist Suites room No 3 and very much enjoyed it. The room was big, bright and very clean. The newly renovated house lies in a fairly quiet, authentic residential neighbourhood, 5 minute's walk from Taksim square and the shopping, bar and restaurant area of Beyoglu. Since the streets around the building are all cul-de-sacs there's very little traffic. Also there are no mosques in the area, i.e. you won't be woken by the muezzin at 5am :-). All in all we can only recommend the Gezilist suites and will be back! More

I stayed there only for 2 nights, but I have to say it was great. The area is not really nice at the first sight, but then you seem the Taksim square is just there, you need 5 minutes walk uphill and you are in the center of Taksim. It is a small place, only 5 apartments, but really beautiful room, comfortable bed, clean, safe... you have all equipment to prepare breakfast and small snacks... The employee very friendly and helpful. It is for those who like more privacy. More

Staying in Beyoglu

Neighborhood Profile
Beyoglu
Istanbul’s most famous street, pedestrianized Istiklal Caddesi (Independence Avenue), throbs day and night and offers a fantastic array of architectural sights, shops, treats, and throngs upon teeming throngs of people. At the avenue’s northeastern end is expansive Taksim Square, thought by many to be the very heart of the city, with many of Turkey’s most renowned restaurants and some of Europe’s most happening nightlife in close proximity. In striking contrast, Beyoglu’s less trafficked areas – such as the affluent Cihangir and the antiques district of Cukurcuma – exude Old World charm and provide contemplative calm and splendid diversion via an assortment of cozy cafes, attractive boutiques, and quiet lanes.
