"Grand" is an over-statement. Compact clean rooms. Tired plain wood decor with damages to the floor, crooked power points, unpredictable air con. Only one English TV channel BBC-News. No kettle, tissues, water. Modern bathroom though. Breakfast edible, but sloppy salty scrambled eggs and tinned fruit when Turkey produces the best fresh fruit. Friendly staff especially Ibrahim on front desk. Good... More

I stayed on two occasions with family. The rooms are good, clean, quiet and presentable. Extra bed is not convenient and also makes the room congested. Dining is good for non-vegetarian but vegetarian will have problem because there was no vegetarian dish in the restaurant. The staff however managed a mix-up to create a veg dish. No major issues with... More

I was in Istanbul for business for 2 weeks and stayed here. My room was front facing and a decent size for one person. My room was well maintained and always clean and fresh looking everyday. This hotel seemed to be the place to stay for any package tours and had high turnover of tour bus travelers every few days.... More

The reviews are pretty much right on target for this hotel. The location is excellent... just steps from the Metro. And it is only a short walk to restaurants, shopping and sights, The rooms are clean but very small. I would stay here again. But one thing to keep in mind... service is limited. As you probably read, no bottled... More

This hotel has a good location. Just behind the hotel after a 200 metres walk comes Istiklal Street, one of the happening places in Istanbul having all sorts of shops, pubs and restaurants and thereon after a 15-20 minute walk, the huge Taksim Square. Also the Galata Tower is behind the hotel. To get to the old city areas of... More

Staying in Beyoglu

Neighborhood Profile
Beyoglu
Istanbul’s most famous street, pedestrianized Istiklal Caddesi (Independence Avenue), throbs day and night and offers a fantastic array of architectural sights, shops, treats, and throngs upon teeming throngs of people. At the avenue’s northeastern end is expansive Taksim Square, thought by many to be the very heart of the city, with many of Turkey’s most renowned restaurants and some of Europe’s most happening nightlife in close proximity. In striking contrast, Beyoglu’s less trafficked areas – such as the affluent Cihangir and the antiques district of Cukurcuma – exude Old World charm and provide contemplative calm and splendid diversion via an assortment of cozy cafes, attractive boutiques, and quiet lanes.
