The hotel location is very good. There's a taxi station near you and most of Istanbul attractions are a walking distance away from you. The place is clean and staff are friendly. However the beds are not comfy and don't bother with the free breakfast.

The hotel is located close to most of the sightseeing places with restaurants and mosques nearby. The hotel staff were very friendly, especially Vedat, who was very helpful from the moment we checked in. He advised us on what to see and also booked us a show at Hodjapasha which we enjoyed thoroughly.

A good hotel right in the center of Sultanahmet area , very close to the blue mosque. A special mention to Vidat , the friendly guy at the reception, extremely helpful, the hotel needs a lot of repairs, the picture in the website for the rooms looks bigger than the actual size. The breakfast is OK , the spread is...

Leaving Istanbul now after a five day stay at albatros. The hotel as a hotel is an okay hotel, not very luxurious, but who is looking for luxury when all you need the hotel booking for is to sleep?! My cousin and I had a great stay and Vedat was the best in guiding us on where to go in...

Good, clear and not expensive hotel in very center of Sultanahmet, very close to Blue Mosque. Especially thanks to receptionist Vedat who was very helpful to visitors. Rooms are not big but looks recently renovated, buffet breakfast, WIFI has very low speed. There is terrace on the roof but not still open for breakfast in April. There is taxi stop...

We enjoyed our stay in March 2016 at the Albatros Hotel. The hotel's best quality is its proximity to most touristic objectives (Blue Mosque, hippodrome, Sophia, Cistern, Topkapi Palace are 5-15 min walking distance away). Staff is okay, friendly, willing to help. Rooms are clean with very few aesthetic flaws. Downside: rooms are small.

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighborhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
