Grand Bazaar
Tourists, hawkers, and locals come together at the Grand Bazaar to comb its labyrinthine passageways in search of a bargain – be it a pair of brand name jeans, a handcrafted silk rug, or a perfectly brewed cup of tea. Outside the vast bazaar, worn, narrow streets wind their way down from its lofty perch to the southern shore of the Golden Horn, where the evocatively aromatic Spice Bazaar beckons alongside the elegant New Mosque (opened in 1665). Nearby, the famed Galata Bridge offers pedestrian access to urban delights across the river in Istanbul’s more residential and contemporary neighborhoods, while the must-see sights of Sultanahmet are but a leisurely stroll away.

It was a good quality hotel for this price. We stayed for 5 nights in march 2019. Couple in room 510. Hpusekeeping was there every day and we had clean towels, cups, plates. Bathroom was decent clean. Breakfast was included in the price. We had big variety of food to choose from. Reception was helpful.

We went for a long weekend. We booked this hotel because of its spa service. When we arrived at the hotel the receptionist let us know unfortunately the hotel is fully booked (we paid in advance for the room) but they have a "brother hotel" and we can move to there. We guessed it's gonna be the same quality hotel with spa service. This hotel was the Hotel Bergama Estambul. This hotel doesn't have spa service. Unfortunetly we didn't complaint about this situation but I'm sure they do this things with so many tourists. About the hotel. The Hotel Bergama was two blocks away the Carlton Hotel. The staff was okay, breakfast terrible. The room was nice, comfortable bed but I do not recommend this two hotels.

The hotel was good with great location and good facilities and good staff. The only complain is that they changed us one night to a different hotel on the day of check-in. This was not very comfortable with a 3 year old kid.

I usually dont write reviews when i have a bad experience as it may have been a one off but this time i was humiliated by the manager and kicked out of the hotel like ive never heard before or experienced. To start with i was in this hotel for a total of 6 days, every one of those six days there was an issue with the safe box and every time i asked the staff to change it he wouldnt and instead repaired and said call me every time u wish to open. Secondly the air conditioning was not working properly and leaked throughout the night which kept me and my wife up at 2am and 4am. The window facing the outside to other rooms was broken in the sense that it would not close wothout using considerable force. One day my wife was having a shower and the water stopped working followed by brown dirty water. The carpet is dirty and isnt cleaned properly and most times mu wife had to clean things herself. There was an old sock of someone next to bed. The above are some of the issues i experienced but can live with and have done before without complaining even though i was with my wife and child this time. The most upsetting part was partially my fault, i didnt read the check out time on the last day and came back to the hotel to find that all my luggage was downstairs in the lobby packed by the staff. I didnt release at the time why my luggage was downstairs and asked the manager why this happened, in return he shouted at me and said that he told me yesterday about my check out time (even though i never spoke to him before or even seen him). I asked him not to shout at me as my baby boy and wife and other people were watching but he continued and insulted me and my family in front of everyone to the point where i felt i was being threatened. When i said is this how u treat customers, he shouted and said that what i do now is not his concern and kicked me out of the hotel and said "get out". I had to carry 3 suitcases, my boys pram into the streets and had to find somewhere to sort all my things and ended up in a mosque courtyard nearby. I have never been so humiliated in my life and that too in front of everyone and my family. Ultimately its your decision to stay here but i can say that if a MANAGER can treat a customer this way then you can imagine how the staff would behave. The country i beautiful and i would go again just never to this hotel.
