The location of the Hotel is very good, close to everything, they were overbooked, (something went wrong with their booking system) so a part of our group had to shift to another hotel, they gave us a room supposedly at the last floor, turned out that the lifts do not reach that floor so we had to use the stairs...

Decided to visit Istanbul for a short break, and booked the Carlton hotel last minute. On reading reviews I was slightly worried!! Carlton Hotel was perfect for me decently priced. It was quite central and close to the metro line. Yes the reception is very dark. The rooms are not very modern but the hotel was clean and the bed...

Hotel entrance is kind of dark. It seems they light up specific parts of the entrance rather than all of it. Bathroom: Sink is fine yet I would say that about the shower box nor the bidet. Some of the wood in the bathroom has black spots and I am not sure if it is fungus or just the white...

A lot times went Istanbul. And last time was disappointed in my favourite hotel. This is was surprised and happy that I'm staying this hotel. Nice service from the beginning. I was so busy in the morning. So just left my language and went for my business. When I back check-in was just 5 minutes. And reception asked which room...

Dirty, small, and old rooms. The toilet is old as well. No tissue papers are provided in the room. The internet connection kerps on changing every now and then. The breakfast is poor. I recommend the owners to do some maintenance cause the location is great and quiet. The cafe "Ottoman" and the staff are very kind.

I can honestly say this was one of the worst hotels I have stayed in. Staff members were extremely rude. We were meant to check in at 14:00 however the room was not ready until 15:00! After travelling to get there that is not what you need. The hotel room was dirty, our room was on the 5th floor (where...

The location is very nice, near to the metro and the tram also the area are beautiful and not noisy. But I didn't like the breakfast & i didn't like its rooms because they are very small in my opinion. For couples it is terrible.

I had a conference in istambul so the organized invited me. I was cheated by the taxi driver but i loved the hotel which was only one km away from the most interesting landmarks of istambul. Breakfast was just ok but there are lots of small places around to get good local food. The rooms are also packed but very...

Staying in Grand Bazaar

Neighborhood Profile
Grand Bazaar
Tourists, hawkers, and locals come together at the Grand Bazaar to comb its labyrinthine passageways in search of a bargain – be it a pair of brand name jeans, a handcrafted silk rug, or a perfectly brewed cup of tea. Outside the vast bazaar, worn, narrow streets wind their way down from its lofty perch to the southern shore of the Golden Horn, where the evocatively aromatic Spice Bazaar beckons alongside the elegant New Mosque (opened in 1665). Nearby, the famed Galata Bridge offers pedestrian access to urban delights across the river in Istanbul’s more residential and contemporary neighborhoods, while the must-see sights of Sultanahmet are but a leisurely stroll away.
