Sinan (Front Desk Manager) surprised us with a lovely birthday cake after our breakfast. I would like also to thank all the team especially Sezgin. The hotel location is AMAZING in SultanAhmet!!! Stayed for 3 days. Staff is very friendly and helpful, and the hotel is very close to the Aya Sofia and Blue Mosque, as well as the tram line to Karabas. Had a small complaint because of some noise from construction work in the morning on a Saturday, but I have no reason to believe this was anything but temporary....

My friends and I just got back from a fabulous two-week vacation in Turkey, and we began and ended our trip by staying at the Ambassador. The location is within walking distance for many of the places that you'll want to see while in Istanbul: Hagia Sophia, the Blue Mosque, Topkapi Palace Museum, the Yerebatan Sarnici, etc. The tram is...

This was my fourth time at the hotel. I am never disappointed. My son and I stayed three nights. I love the view of the Hagia Sophia and Blue Mosque on the rooftop pavilion. Magnificent. The friendly desk staff was always available to help us find places to eat or visit. The breakfast was delightful. Sezgin is a wonderful asset...

Very nice, small hotel in the middle of the Old Town in Istanbul. Located almost between the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia. Walking distance to the Old Bazaar, Toptaki Palace and many, many restaurants. Still quiet at night. Very friendly staff. Great breakfast on the roof, from here you have the most amazing view over Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque and...

I've just recently come back spending 6 days with my elderly parents and 2 children under 4. My experience of the hotel was very pleasing. The staff truly go out of the way to help you. As its a boutique hotel you get the personal service often experienced in 5 start hotels. Sezgin was always willing to help, over and...

This hotel was recommended to us and we were very grateful. The location was perfect in historic Istanbul. From here you are within a 10 minute walk to the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace and a 300 year old Turkish Bath too! Tram lines are nearby also. Dining choices are around every corner. Breakfast was included in our room...

Just returned from my second visit to The Ambassador Hotel in Istanbul. We were a party of 5 and each took our own room. The rooms are certainly big enough for one but some (not all) are slightly small for two. All the rooms are refurbished and very clean but could benefit from some brighter lighting. This small hotel is...

Our group of 15 loved the Ambassador Hotel! Great location! Great people from the front desk to the kitchen staff! We stayed 2 nights and loved it. The Saturday night did have a little street noise, but that is what you expect in a big city. We will stay there again!

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighborhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
