I have twice chosen this hotel for my groups. It is located in the heart of old town (Sultanahmet), at the same time it is on a small street, which makes the place really quiet. In 5 min by foot you can reach the Marmara Sea, at 3 min is Hagia Sophia and Blue Mosque, at 5-7 min is Topkapi Palace's entrance. I liked everything at this hotel, however, 2 highlights for me would be the service and cleanliness. I have never heard 'no' from the hotel's manager Ünal. This super friendly and polite man helped me every time at every question, and each time I asked him something it was fast and very well done or answered. We were allowed to use the terrace, kitchen, microwave and fridge 24/7. By the way, there is free drinking water and tea. Once I was warming up the dinner for my group and Ünal came and just helped me to do it faster. He proposed us an yacht-tour and it was amazing. I even don't want to mention things like taking luggage upstairs, calls and food orders etc. he helped me with. Before we stayed there 1st time, in my messages I mentioned that I'd be glad to have hot breakfasts for my group, I never repeated it anymore, and it was organized when we came. Breakfast was very tasty each time, varied and fresh. I appreciated a lot every detail especially connected to service. Bedlinen, towels and rooms are very clean, beds are so comfy. Rooms' design is about cosiness. There is central heating! Only 2 small things for you to be informed: wifi is at medium speed (but it's almost everywhere like this in the centre) and there is only tropical shower in the bathrooms (not the best news for ladies). However, when you hear the seagulls and calls to pray early morning, wake up after comfortable sleep, have wonderful breakfast from smiling Bahattin on the terrace with sea view, and Ünal wishes you beautiful day, you will be happy for sure with your choice to stay at this charming hotel in magical Istanbul.…
From Australia we have stayed there on a number of visits to Istanbul. The hotel is very clean and comfortable. The real highlight is the position being close to everything in the old quarter. Also the roof breakfast area where you can sit looking over the Bosphorus. The staff are great and very helpful and polite, especially Unaal, Would highly recommend it.
The Sebnem is small, clean and comfortable. It’s located behind Aya Sophia so is within walking distance to all the main sights. It has a nice terrace restaurant with views of the Sea of Marmara for breakfast and the staff are friendly and helpful.
It is not so stylish and the breakfast was not the best one. But the rooms were clean, the personal so friendly. The biggest highlight for me was the location. For the price it was just great! If you are not looking for a fancy Hotel I would recommend it certainly.
Best thing about the hotel is the location and the hosts. So kind and helpful. Great breakfast on the terrasse with view of the bosphore. Antique furniture and lots of art that make the hotel very appealing. 2 minutes from Topkapi palace
