We stayed as a group about a week before the attempted coup on July 2016. It was very obvious that the tourist trade was down heaps before that. The hotel itself is well presented and is located very close to the Hippodrome in Sultanahmet. Its about 5 minutes walk to the Hippodrome. Rooms have a traditional decor, looking like an...

The first night we were send to a room that's to small for 2 people. The bathroom was 1 by 1 metre so can't stand with 2 people in the bathroom to brush your teeth for example. We then did get another room the next day after complaining. The rooms are dated and need some renovation. The staff behind the...

Located just beside the heart of Antique Istanbul, it is the best Hotel to be for a Cultural trip. Lot of nice attractions around, and excellent restaurant with delicious food. The best thing in the Hotel is the view over Blue Mosque, Aya Sofia and Topkapi from the 5th Floor Rooms, and the Breakfast Terrace. Highly recommended for Honeymooners.

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighborhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
