Istanbul’s most famous street, pedestrianized Istiklal Caddesi (Independence Avenue), throbs day and night and offers a fantastic array of architectural sights, shops, treats, and throngs upon teeming throngs of people. At the avenue’s northeastern end is expansive Taksim Square, thought by many to be the very heart of the city, with many of Turkey’s most renowned restaurants and some of Europe’s most happening nightlife in close proximity. In striking contrast, Beyoglu’s less trafficked areas – such as the affluent Cihangir and the antiques district of Cukurcuma – exude Old World charm and provide contemplative calm and splendid diversion via an assortment of cozy cafes, attractive boutiques, and quiet lanes.

Stayed here for 2 nights at end of March. The hotel reception and lobby bar are very nice. The gym/sauna looked nice but I didn’t use it. However, the rooms were a disappointment. Very small and very dated. Paint coming off the walls and ceilings. There is no sound proofing so sleeping is difficult. The hotel has a terrace restaurant on 8th floor that plays very loud music in the evenings. We were on the 6th floor and it sounded like it was right outside our room and meant we couldn’t sleep. There was no pre-warning about this. The terrace restaurant is where breakfast is served from 730am. We arrived for breakfast at 740am. There were no staff, although the breakfast buffet was already laid out. Staff arrived about 10 mins later and started laying tables. They had obviously only just arrived for work. It was quite awkward to be honest. Didn’t have dinner at the restaurant. Potentially a nice setting but very dated with broken windows and shattered glass tiles. Wouldn’t advise staying here is you want a good nights sleep or expecting quality. Location is central though.

250 m from Istiklal, about 20 ride from Ataturk airport, silent and cozy (depends on what room you get). Some rooms are better than others. Breakfast is nice and hotel has a nice terrace with a view. The staff is friendly. Pictures are better than in reality, but if you are not going to spend all day long in it - its O.K.

I came over for three days and stayed in room 307 at Troya. The hotel is relatively small but the room was good. The window opened out into nothing which was a shame as it would have been nice to look out but it had everything I needed in it. The tea and coffee facilities were good but the only dust I found in the room came from the pots the tea and coffee were stored in(some hair etc). The bathroom was immaculate and the air con helped to get a comfortable night’s sleep. I want to visit again as I didn’t get to see much of Istanbul but I liked the street this hotel was on. He staff were friendly and the food was quite good inside the restaurant, it’s also cheap as is everything in Istanbul. The hotel has a gym and sauna and the restaurant views on the top floor are really good. Overall, when I return to Istanbul, I will definitely consider Troya.

Small hotel, in the middle of the town. Near are a lot of small shops and other objects to visit. This hotel is the best for couples for a romantic visit. I have got only a small disapointment that in ours room was no window.
