Great hotel in the heart of Istanbul every where behind us near to any transportation from mermary to gulhana metro and eminouni bus Very friendly and helpful stuff Breakfast is good but needs some more variety ,rooms is clean I like this hotel and next time i will be there again
As a couple we stayed at Orient Express hotel from Jan. 16 to Jan. 20/ 2020. The hotel is cozy, clean and well-situated in Sirkeci near all Istanbul's most famous tourist sites. It has a varied and nice breakfast in the basement floor. Cleaning is daily. Reception staff are friendly and helpful. One demerit is that some rooms are facing the street along which the tram passes, so if this bothers you (It doesn't for me), you need to ask for a back room. I subtract one star for the reason that they used to have a rooftop terrace designed for a restaurant the thing that encouraged me to book this hotel but I was informed at check-in that is was closed.
The orient express hotel is centrally located and is good for the price. Everything is at walking distance and the staff helps you if you have any questions. We had a little incident where my friend locked her stuff in the safe and forgot the password. We had a flight to catch but we did not have to wait or sacrifice a single second. Staff members Ali and Targo (hope I spelled it correctly) went above and beyond and got a technician to fix the issue at 6 am. I would recommend this Hotel to everyone who needs a great location to stay in Istanbul.
The hotel is a 10 minutes walk from the main attractions in Sultanahmet. There is a tram line a 2 minute walk away. So the location is great. Rooms may be a bit dated, but there is nothing wrong with them. Everything is clean, spacious and comfortable. Staff are very friendly. There is a lift to carry up luggage etc., and airport transfers are available for a good price. Breakfast is nice and fresh. It’s not the most luxurious buffet breakfast, however this is more than appropriately reflected in the price. Considering the location and everything else, this is very good value for money, and would definitely choose to stay here again.
We booked for a 2 day stay. Hotel check in is at 2pm, we arrived at midday, and asked if it was possible to check in. The man at reception offered us to sit down for half an hour and our rom would be ready. We decided to go and have lunch in the mean time in one of the nearby restaurants. When we came back an hour later, they told us that people checked out late and the room was still not ready. So we had no chance to have a shower and change before going on sightseeing, as we only had a day and half in the city. There was a slight compensation that when we came back in the evening, they offered us complimentary tea with cake. We had a family room, but the settee/extra bed was uncomfortable, so we slept all 3 in the double bed . The room was very clean, well stocked even with slippers and the bathroom was very good, with a bath and good warm shower. The room was very quiet even with the window open, and good size. Receptionist was helpful but not overly friendly and tried a bit of a hard sell on the overpriced tours. Breakfast was slightly disappointing as despite a huge selection we struggled to find something we liked, be it pancakes or omelette. The eggs were all hard boiled. Despite the downsides, I would not hesitate to stay in the same hotel again, because of the great location and overall value for money.…
