Wonderfully located 3 star hotel in traditional partly wooden building. IMHO the closest hote to the Blue mosque. Direct view of the mosque and side view for one terrace and Bosphorus view from the other terrace. The rooms and beds very OK, no issues with hotwater as sometimes mentioned. Breakfast could have more varieties, as fruit and juices, but never...

Highly recommended hotel. Located just a few walks away from the blue mosque with amazing view at night. The staff was very friendly esp mr Ramadhan and treat you as you're in home, generous breakfast, comfort room, and i certainly would come here again if i have a chance to visit Istanbul next time.

I had booked this hotel for a family vacation in December. We were given separate rooms on different floors. The heating in my childrens room was not working and it was freezing cold. The hot water in my room was not working and we had to use cold water. I had pre paid and was happy to move to one...

Ararat hotel is located in a superb location at an affordable price. It is within 3 mins walking distance to the Blue Mosque in a safe neighborhood. Staff is generally polite but seems a bit shy. Facilities are basic but definitely clean. Room can be small due to the price but very reasonable. One minor inconvenience is that you need...

Back at Hotel Ararat for the second time. Last time was about 10 years ago. New owner of two years. He has changed the mattresses so they are more comfortable and converted the terrace to have a retractable roof so it can be used year round and sit and look straight onto the Blue Mosque and Aya Sophia to the...

This gem of a hotel is in the heart of Turkey. Right opposite the Blue Mosque and close to all of the beautiful sites. The staff (Monika, Anna and Ramazan) is really friendly and accommodating.. I only stayed one night at this hotel. The location is fantastic. It is literally right next to the Blue Mosque. Everything is within walking distance. The hotel staff were very friendly. Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighborhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
