Good location. Good breakfast. Wifi patchy in our room. The lamps make the hotel, otherwise there isn't much else going for the rooms. Rooms are basic. Staff are friendly. The restaurant attached to the hotel does good food - there are so many restaurants in the area it's a bit overwhelming to decide where to eat!

This was a wonderful boutique hotel right in the heart of Istanbul. walking distance to most of the main attractions. If you are looking for something a little different this is a great place to stay. Well kept. The staff was wonderful. Great restaurant and morning breakfast. I would stay here again in a heartbeat. Only downfall is that their... More

We stayed here for 3 nights with the intention of seeing the most important sights in Istanbul. Location was perfect. Less than 5 minutes walk to the Cistern Basilica, Blue Mosque and Agia Sofia. Topkapi was just a few minutes further. The Grand Bazaar was less than 15 minutes and the Spice Bazaar was around the same. The hotel itself... More

We stayed a week at the Kybele, the rooms are clean and comfortable and the size you would expect in a series of converted houses. Staff are friendly and welcoming and breakfast and dinner good. The location is perfect if you are visiting Sultanahmet area and convenient for the tram if you want to range further afield. Strongly recommended.

Loved this! Staff good. Great lounge areas to sit . Attached resturant brilliant with a wonderful manager, Hussain. Too many stairs but worth the climb. Old hotel but furnishing are cool. Outside and inside areas to eat. Breakfast was fine. Location in old part was brilliant and not in with all the high end hotels. Markets, Blue Mosque, restaurants etc... More

I ended up stumbling in the lobby for tea or drinks twice on my trip, it's super cute with antiques. Somehow that happened. The people are nice and it's comfy. Highly recommend. I would actually consider staying here next time I am in Istanbul

From the time we arrived we felt part of the family and completely at home in this fun quirky hotel. It was ideal for our party of 9 (4 adults, 5 kids). Vefa was really helpful and organised our transfers as well as a fantastic walking culinary tour with Yilmaz, who has a travel agent a few doors away. The... More

If you want to easily explore the city center it is a very central location to stay and stroll around Sultanhamet and the main attractions. Funky hotel, nicely decorated with lamps hanging from the ceiling of the bedrooms.

This funky little hotel is so charming with its many lanterns and walls covered with Turkish and Islamic art. The staff is very helpful and friendly and the food is exceptional. One of the nicer places to get an adult beverage too. The outdoor patio is simply blissful. The perfect place to sip an Efes while escaping the heat. The... More

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighborhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
