This is by far one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed at, I would definitely advise against it. This hotel is graded as a 4 star hotel, although it lacks the quality, service and hygiene level of a 2 or 3 star hotel. The rooms are incredibly small and are stuck to each other to the point where...

I was in Lion Hotel for three night and I found the place quite clean with an average breakfast. Hotel is in a very good and alive location and near the Istiklal walking street which you may find lots of cafes, bars, pubs, clubs and so on. Lion hotel is in a old building without swimming pool but you can...

We visited Lion Hotel for one night in January 2012. The room was clean and rather spacious, the service was polite and discrete. We were amazed by the breakfast which it was delicious and there was a huge variety of food to choose from. I implicitly recommend it!

Staying in Beyoglu

Neighborhood Profile
Beyoglu
Istanbul’s most famous street, pedestrianized Istiklal Caddesi (Independence Avenue), throbs day and night and offers a fantastic array of architectural sights, shops, treats, and throngs upon teeming throngs of people. At the avenue’s northeastern end is expansive Taksim Square, thought by many to be the very heart of the city, with many of Turkey’s most renowned restaurants and some of Europe’s most happening nightlife in close proximity. In striking contrast, Beyoglu’s less trafficked areas – such as the affluent Cihangir and the antiques district of Cukurcuma – exude Old World charm and provide contemplative calm and splendid diversion via an assortment of cozy cafes, attractive boutiques, and quiet lanes.
