With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.

We have stayed in this hotel for a week and we couldn't have chosen better. The hotel is in a perfect location, next to the tram and important landmarks. The rooms are beautiful and really comfortable. There is wifi and everything is very clean. We even used the swimming pool once and it was lovely. The breakfast was excellent, really varied and delicious. They can cook waffles and omelettes for you. There is a really nice terrace with amazing views of Santa Sofia. A special thanks to the Breakfast team who were always kind and very helpful.

We recently visited with friends and spent 8 nights in this hotel. The tram stop is 100 yards away and lots of the main attractions in easy walking distance if you can manage the hill. The room was a little smaller than expected but was adequate for our needs. Breakfast buffet items were a little hit and miss but there was always the omelette/egg station available. There is a pool and gym. The pool is small and not suitable for someone wishing to swim as a good push off would take you to the other end. Overall the hotel is well presented, clean and ideally located with attractions and restaurants, shops etc. on the doorstep. Would we stay again? Most definitely.

First visit to this beautiful city and first time in this hotel. It was a very nice experience. Great hotel: Modern, clean, central, practical with good service, good breakfast and good nighbourhood atmosphere. Among the symathetic staff members Mr Mehmet won our Oscar for his good service and good intentions. From chekin to check out all was perfect. We would surely come back again.

The hotel is within a short walk of a number of tourist attractions including the Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, Basilica Cistern, Archaeology Museum, Topkapi Palace and the lovely Gulhane Gardens. The Grand Bazaar and Spice Bazaar are a little further but also within easy walking distance. It is also surrounded by indoor/outdoor restaurants and cafes and souvenir shops and the tram stop is just around the corner. We found the staff very friendly and helpful, speak good English and happy to take time to show us how to get to various destinations with a map. Our room had a TV overlooking the large bed, tea/coffee facilities, wardrobe complete with dressing gowns, a safe, a window seat and a writing desk. The bathroom/shower/toilet was small but adequate. The only minor negative was our suitcases had to be left on the floor, but there was plenty of space for this. To 'top' it off, the highly recommended Olive Anatolian restaurant, with nice views of the city, is on the top floor of the hotel. We enjoyed our daily breakfasts there as well as one dinner. If we're lucky enough to return to Istanbul, this is where we'll be staying!
