right by the blue mosque with stunning views from the rooftop terrace, this wonderful place fed us well, slept us very comfortably and overall highly contributed to our enjoying istanbul. gorgeously decorated (genuine vintage pieces of turkish furniture) and ingeniously maximising a rather small space, it stayed in our minds (this trip was over 3 years ago!) ideal for a...

Why not 5 stars? Understanding that i am hard to please, consider the following. The beds were only about 16" off the floor. I mean the top of the mattress. This is very difficult for anyone with bad knees. Also, the lighting in the bathroom was very poor with light only from one side of the mirror and none overhead....

We spent four very pleasant nights in this lovely hotel. Very friendly staff with lots of useful advice about restaurants, sight seeing and shopping. The view of the Blue Mosque from the roof terrace was amazing. The rooms were smart and comfortable. Highly recommended.

I came to Ibrahim Pasha as a solo traveler while on a business mission before joining a tour to the ancient Greek and Roman cities. As I needed to be in Sultanahmet, my criteria for the selection of my accommodation was the location, unbeatable even under a touristic point of view! Easy to reach from the airport (they can organize...

If you were any closer to the Hippodrome you would be in the ancient chariot races. With the major tourist sites and Tram so close this is a location worth considering. The rooms are smallish(European size), A/C, English TV channels and WiFi which makes the stay comfortable. Breakfast is a Turkish style Buffet and the reception area has a large...

I just returned from a 4-night stay at this hotel. It was exactly what I was looking for... a great price and a great location. The staff was excellent from when I checked in and was greeted with a Turkish cinnamon drink and an introduction to the city to a recommendation on a rug store where I walked away with...

We have recently spent four nights at the Ibrahim Pasha Hotel in Istanbul. We chose the hotel because of its central location in Sultanahmet and were not disappointed. It was literally two minutes walk (if that) to the Hippodrome Square where the Blue Mosque is situated. The hotel has a roof terrace with spectacular views of the Blue Mosque and...

The location is perfect, within easy walking distance of all the major sights. It is a perfect boutique hotel with ample comfortable reception areas, very quiet and excellent service. The roof terrace is fantastic, perfect for an evening drink. The standard rooms are small but why spend more, you will be exhausted after the sightseeing. Beds are comfortable , breakfast...

Very reasonably priced hotel, hard to find but in a great location a couple of minutes walk from teh major attractions and the tram. Staff was extremely helpful which is needed in this city. Rooms were fine but not fancy. Breakfasts very good in classic turkish style. Highly recommended.

This hotel grew on me the longer I stayed and I was there for 7 nights so that means a lot. It has understated elegance that I didn't absorb the first day but it was undeniable day after day and night after night. This is a classy experience -- nice-sized rooms, comfy public rooms and a terrific daily breakfast that...

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighborhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
