There are tons of small boutique hotels in Sultanahmet at all price ranges and corresponding levels of cleanliness and service. This hotel is a bit of a splurge but is worth every penny and I would highly recommend it. It is in a great location by the Blue Mosque and other sights. The rooms are a bit on the small...

The hotel we decided upon, was the Ibrahim Pasha Hotel in the Old City. Our travel helper Jim Reynolds of Dos Plumas, gave it high marks and a Parisian who lives in the hood, that hangs out on the roof in the evenings, told us it was the best spot in all of Istanbul for a cocktail. Because we had...

Beautiful, traditional style rooms. Extremely helpful and friendly staff who took the time to sit down with us on arrival to show us a map of the city and make sure we had anything we needed. Nice cosy place to come back to after a day walking the streets of Istanbul. Have recommended to many people since.

We had a lovely stay at the hotel. It was recommended by a friend and it lived up to his recommendation. We felt very cared for, by everyone from the staff members who took care of our needs pleasantly and efficiently even when we arrived (and later left) in the middle of the night, to the day staff who answered...

We stayed last year and are very happy to say it was just as good second time around. The breakfast is excellent. The staff fantastic. The rooftop spectacular. Our room was clean and the bed comfortable. Yes we would stay again.

The roof top deck really makes this hotel worth every penny. We spent every late afternoon/early evening of our 5 night staying watching the sun set over the blue mosque. The staff at this hotel are excellent - it's some of the best service I've had anywhere. We had a delux room which included a small sitting area and it...

Really lovely hotel. Comfortable, quaint and friendly. Our room was very clean with lovely accommodations; marble bathroom, wonderful linens, separate sofa with TV,and great service above all. In a great area and with everything you could ask for. Would recommend!

I booked the Ibrahim Pasha Hotel based on a recommendation backed up by the positive reviews on Tripadvisor and I was not disappointed. The hotel is located in the "Old City" area of Istanbul and is directly across from the Blue Mosque. When you enter the hotel you are greeted by a cosy and boutique atmosphere. The Deluxe rooms are...

I stayed here for a week in June/July, and I was so impressed. The rooms were cozy, but so well-designed, I never felt cramped. Beautifully decorated and the beds were incredibly comfortable. (Go for a deluxe room if you can.) The roof bar is gorgeous. The breakfasts were lovely. The location is perfect for exploring Historic Istanbul. But the thing...

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighborhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
