We returned to Istanbul after a 10 year hiatus. We, of course, stayed at this same hotel again. We could not have been more pleased. The hotel itself is lovely and the rooftop breakfast and bar has such nice views of the Bosphorous and the Blue Mosque. We whiled away many pleasant mornings and evenings up here. The staff are all so helpful, friendly and attentive, all of them.
We opted for a "Deluxe Room with a Sea View". It was very nice, plenty of room with a nice, private bath. And it was just one floor down from the rooftop bar/breakfast room which we really enjoyed.
Nima, at the front desk, was quite helpful as our luggage had been lost in Frankfurt on our way in. He called the airport for us to inquire on its status which was so kind. Also he booked us a taxi for our departure to the cruise port.
One of the staff, Murat, was a favorite of ours both 10 years ago and this visit as well. He really went out of his way to make us comfortable and welcome, making us a nice snack to go with our wine as we watched the sun set over the Bosphorous. We had some nice conversations with him which we greatly enjoyed. And he was so surprised when I showed him a photo of us WITH him on our visit in 2013!!
Do stay here. It is a gem.

I had to travel to Istanbul during the autumn of 2020 in the middle of Covid-19 situation. I found this very nice cozy hotel based on reviews online, and I was pleasantly surprised by how smooth my stay went especially during this tough time. First of all, the location is great since it is in walking distance to Sultanahmet square, but still not overcrowded. The hotel itself is in Ottoman mansion style, which definitely gives it a very nice vibe. The front desk staff are so warm and kind, as if they are your old friends. They happily answer your questions and guide you on how to enjoy your stay in Istanbul. They were very diligent in keeping the sanitization of the hotel and even even advised me of which places to not to visit to avoid getting in crowds where keeping social distance is not easy. Lastly, the included breakfast was very tasty and of high quality, and could be served in their terrace or at room based on preference. Overall, If you want to have the cleanliness standards of bigger names while also experiencing how an Istanbulite person lives in one of the most ancient neighbourhoods of this amazing city, in a warm, welcoming and truly home-like atmosphere, I would definitely recommend this hotel to you.

My wife and I recently stayed in this hotel for 11 nights and it was simply superb. Location is very central near the Blue Mosque yet just up a small quiet street - most of the tourist attractions are less than 10 minutes walking, we also ate at a couple of restaurants which were less than 200metres away and were both very good. it’s a small boutique hotel which is very welcoming- we were greeted with complimentary apple tea and Turkish delight and our bags were taken to the room. The staff remained very friendly and helpful thoroughly our stay. There is an elevator to all floors and the rooftop has an amazing view for breakfast or an evening drink. The hotel feels safe, quiet and comfortable with good air conditioning and has an authentic Turkish feel. Home from home. It is also excellent value for money. We will return when we are next in Istanbul. Thanks to all the staff.

The moment I arrived at Hotel Dersaadet I was sincerely and genuinely welcomed by the reception staff. There were lovely personal touches like the offer of apple tea and refreshments when I checked in and the welcome gift and letter from the manager which I found in my room. The room had a lovely, warm, homely feel and it was beautifully furnished, spacious and immaculately clean, just like the everywhere throughout the hotel.
All the reception staff were exceptionally helpful whenever I asked for information and recommendations for places to eat, visit and shop. The hotel is in a perfect location, minutes from all the amazing places to visit in the Sultanahmet.
I really enjoyed eating a delicious breakfast and having a drink on the roof terrace which has stunning views across Istanbul and the Marmara sea.
I especially want to thank the hotel manager Ilhan for his incredible kindness, support and professionalism when I was told I had to leave Turkey at very short notice because flights back to the UK were being suspended at 08:00 on March 17th due to the Covid-19 pandemic. He helped me search for flights, print out tickets and book a taxi which got me to the airport only just in time for the flight!
I cannot recommend Hotel Dersaadet highly enough. It deserves a five star rating for the wonderful, personalised service it offers to its guests and if I am able to return to Istanbul one day I will definitely stay there again.

We stayed at Dersaadet Hotel for 5 nights in April and found it to be the perfect location for our first visit to Istanbul. Everything that you want to visit will be in walking-distance. However also a tram is running only 10 minutes from the hotel The area is full of (rather) touristy restaurants, cafes, shops...but the vibe is anyhow great with impressive sights like the Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, Topkapi Palace, Galata Bridge, different markets...
Everybody at the hotel is extremely friendly & helpful. We were greeted with Turkish Delights and Apple Tea up on check-in, breakfast is local & fresh, the whole hotel is spreading a nostalgic and very relaxed charme and atmosphere.
The rooms are well maintained. Spend the extra bugs for the sea view, it is so worth it. The rooms are equipped with everything that you will need. Just a small hint, the hairdryer is a very old model. It is still drying your hair, however if you prefer to dry and style your hair comfortably, we recommend to bring your own small travel hairdryer.
What we really enjoyed, too, were clean water dispenser so that you could fill up your empty bottles at any time.
Furthermore, we booked the airport transfer through the hotel and everything went very smoothly. We will be back!

Dersaadet made us feel right at home from the minute we walked into the lobby. We had some delicious tea which gave us a sweet first taste of İstanbul after a very long and tiring flight. The whole team is amazing (front desk, kitchen-restaurant, and cleaning staff). Everyone was really kind, warmhearted, and helpful at all times, offering really good advice regarding means of transportation, airport transfer shuttles, restaurants, tours, and other attractions.

The hotel is beautiful, clean, and super cozy. Its traditional Turkish decoration gives the place a unique touch that makes you feel happy and inspired. Our room was super comfortable; we loved waking up to the Ezan (something entirely new to us) and the beautiful light coming through our windows. I ran the İstanbul Marathon while staying here and slept like a baby thanks to the room’s comfortable bed.

The terrace is something else. We had a wonderful time having breakfast here every morning. The views are breathtaking (one of the best views you could possibly get of the Blue Mosque and the Sea of Marmara). We even made some seagull friends who came to eat with us every morning. The hotel’s location is so good we didn’t even have to use public transportation or taxis (we walked the entire time). When we left, the hotel gave us a tiny and precious souvenir for good luck, such a beautiful detail! Dersaadet Hotel is a must if you ever go to İstanbul!

My Sweetheart surprised me with a trip to Istanbul for a big birthday and made all the arrangements including the Sultan’s Suite at Dersaadet for three nights. We both and loved it! Our third floor corner room had windows on three sides with gorgeous views of the Bosporus. It was convenient, comfortable, clean, quiet, quaintly decorated in old world style, and in a great location within walking distance to all the sites we wanted to visit. The staff was helpful and kind, and even arranged a guide, who was delightful. Every morning we went upstairs to their rooftop deck for a simple and delicious breakfast, and sipping our coffee and teas reveling in the view. I hope to return someday.

Visiting Istanbul and staying at the Dersaadet hotel, was the last segment of a four-week vacation. My husband and I had a fantastic experience, and certainly, the Dersaadet hotel and its staff were part of it. When we arrived, we were welcomed with wonderful Turkish tea and Turkish delight, and when we got to our room, I had a thoughtful note and a little souvenir from Ozan. It was a nice way to start our visit.

The Dersaadet hotel is a gem within the Old City. Historical sites, souvenir shops, and good restaurants are at walking distance and the area is safe for walking day or night. For us Americans, the hotel felt like coming home at the end of a long day, impeccably kept, rooms cleaned daily, and Mr. Murat’s breakfast available every morning. The view of the Bosporus from the terrace while eating breakfast is the cherry on top of the cake.

After two days home, I have already recommended to my friends to visit this wonderful country and Istanbul, and to contact the Dersaadet Hotel. The Dersaadet family will be ready to welcome you. Once there, look for a book on the coffee table of the family room on the first floor, the title of the book is “Dersaadet” by Adolph Thalasso where he describes the meaning of “Dersaadet”. Dersaadet means “gate to bliss” … or... Istanbul, the Gate to Bliss. The book is a good read that describes the beauty of Istanbul.

The building and rooms have lots of character, and the location is Sultanahmet is hard to beat: suffice it to say that you get to eat breakfast on the terrace against the backdrop of the Blue Mosque!
But above all, I would praise the staff, who really go out of the way to be courteous and helpful, from recommending tours and restaurants to ordering a taxi on short notice (following a bit of an emergency).
The room was on the small side, and even though the amenities are modern (a/c, bathroom), the entourage certainly isn't, but it is part of the character (look for old style rotary phones!) Breakfast is decent, and you can order more dishes and fresh orange juice for a little extra.
We had a couple of hiccups, which were happily resolved in the end: boat tour they booked us on was much longer than we thought, and we had rush back from midway, so as to not miss our flight; an item left behind in the safe deposit box took a few days to be found but was retrieved and handed over to the DHL courier. No hard feelings

Our guide helped arranged a stay in Istanbul and chose this hotel for us. It is located in the heart of old town Istanbul, very close to the Hagia Sofia, Blue Mosque, Grand and Spice Bazaar, as well as the Sulaiman Mosque. Everything is within walking distance. The area is pretty safe to walk around alone.

Ozan and crew went above and beyond in making sure our needs are attended. We even got complimentary breakfast when we arrived earlier than official check in time.It is family owned and they put extra care in running this hotel.

The hotel itself is an old house turned into a boutique hotel. Typically, places like this is a bit scary, but not with this hotel. Beddings, bathrooms, ammenities are new. You can experience authentic Turkish style living through this hotel.

Breakfast is superb. Due to COVID precaution, the usual buffet style serving is now a semi buffet. Mr. Murat helped us with plating our food and served the breads and drinks.

Everyone from front desk, dining prep, to cleaning crew are very friendly. I appreciate the service and I highly recommend this hotel.
