The service provided is second to none, especially considering the limitations we all face in 2021. Never once did we fail to receive quick & complete responses from all staff members - from the room cleaning crew to the general manager, all were available & seemed genuinely happy to be of service. While we did not take advantage of the spa, a friend who was travelling with us did & he gave high marks for the experience. The room was clean & comfortable. Being a spoiled American & from a part of the country that is largely uninhabitable without air conditioning for many months of the year, we would have preferred that the room AC colled just a few more degrees than it did. I should note that we visited Istanbul in the hottest month of the year, during an extraordinary heat wave. Other than a few preferred degrees of AC, our stay was fantastic & an excellent bargain.

We arrived on 26th December for a 7 night stay, we weren't keen on the room we had been allocated when we arrived and the front desk staff were really helpful in showing us another room, 2216 with stunning views across to Laleli Mosque. The hotel architecture is stunning, and it feels very traditionally Turkish in style. Our room was very comfortable and we slept very well in the king sized bed. We had access to the club lounge which was very useful for a light breakfast, daytime snacks and wine, beer and a larger selection of snacks in the evening. The staff at the hotel were all really helpful and friendly. The area is also good, good transport links to all areas and also easy to walk to a lot of the main tourist areas. Arrived for a brief 5 day holiday with my sister, which we got at a great price! The overall experience is not what is to be expected from a 5* hotel. Not by a long shot! We stayed in a sort of attic room that had falling curtains which were left like that the entire time! The room was not clean at all, it was never vacuumed the entire time we were there. What was on the floor was still there when we checked out. The side tables were never wiped down. The beds were always hastily/poorly made the bathroom not very clean either we found bits of toothpaste in the sink after our room was supposedly cleaned!! The taps had water marks and soap scum underneath. The soap dish was never cleaned for the duration of our stay. We complained about it after our room was not cleaned for an entire day. Turns out the "do not disturb" sign we initially had on there for a couple of hours was registered as our preference through the stay. Oversight they said, which is fair enough as the hotel was relatively busy - Sure, it happen sometimes. However, once can be classified as an oversight not the entire stay. We had a "double room" with 2 single beds like primary school children! We had no slippers in our room even after complaining and asking for them. The entire experience was lacking and actually inhospitable (language barrier played a part). Their only saving grace was their central location to some sites and some of their friendly staff whom we interacted with at breakfast and the bar area. Besides that, the entire experience was a complete let down from me. The hotel could pass as a "high end" motel or lower range 3* hotel at best. It cannot be classified as a 5* or 4*. I won't be staying there again anytime soon.

Good solid hotel in great location, easy walking distance to all the major sites. It's a little dated but clean and fantastic service. We had an issue when we checked in (the room we checked into was not made up/cleaned) but were immediately given a new and upgraded room and breakfast for each day of our stay. Throughout our stay every employee we interacted with was pleasant and helpful. Sertan at the lobby bar was especially helpful, going above and beyond to help us figure out the tram system and giving us restaurant recommendations. The breakfast buffet was extensive and I appreciated the Covid protocols in place. The only reason I am not giving five stars is the decor feels very old and dated.

After reviewing several hotels, we chose Crowne Plaza Hotel Old City and we could not have made a better decision - Thanks to Ahmet, we were upgraded to a suite which was extremely comfortable.
1. Hotel: It's a big hotel, very well kept. It has a small bar on the ground floor and a very restaurant. our room was serviced everyday with fresh towels and sheets.
2. Location: it is 3 minutes walk to the tramp and 5 minutes to the metro station. Plenty of restaurants and pubs within 5 minutes walk. You are at a walking distance from most attractions and 10 minutes ride to Taksim Square and 25 minutes Levent.
3. Hotel Staff: I cannot thank each staff enough for being so professional and helpful, but Ahmet at the reception, Hadhim the bell boy but most importantly, Mr. Ismail who was the night shift manager - We needed a plug for our room and Mr. Ismail personally went out to get us one. The staff is honest and hard working, We left our things out in the room and it was found untouched.

Located in Laleli district in the old city of Istanbul, this hotel is located conveniently on the T1 tram line. There are a number of shops nearby, including a large tempting baklava shop, money exchange offices with good rates, restaurants and a couple of small supermarkets. We found it easy to travel around Istanbul from here.
This hotel was originally the Tayyare Apartment Building designed by architect Kamaleddin Bay built in 1922. It retains many of the old architectural features; the graceful stairways, the canopied atriums, chandeliers and polished floors. Our block had an internal atrium surround on four sides by rooms. There are small elevators to each of the blocks.
We booked four nights before joining a tour that was staying an additional two nights here at the start. We had the same room for this entire stay and didn’t have to book in again so that worked well. Our room was outfitted in a more modern style but had old fashioned opening windows with good blackout curtains. The only street noise heard from our room was that of the tram as this district restricts cars but we had no trouble getting dropped off from the airport by our taxi service. The bed was comfortable, the air conditioner operated well on heating (we didn’t try cooling) and there was adequate luggage storage, hanging space, mini-fridge, wall TV, coffee and tea making facilities as well as mugs, glasses and wine glasses, small desk and chair and a small table and chair. The mini-bar was the most extensively stocked I have seen! You are supplied with two free bottles of water a day.
Bathroom has clean lines and fresh towels. The sink tap release was missing its cap but housekeeping released it the next day. Water pressure is great but I had to press the override on the hot water tap up as high as I could, not use any cold water at all, and run it for a while to get decently hot water. We returned here at the end of our tour for another two nights and the hot water was working well then.
Breakfast buffet, starting at 7 am, had a good range of fresh salads and fruit, olives, stuffed peppers, various cheeses, as well as breads, pastries, hot food such as scrambled eggs or shakshuka, sausages and some local specialities. There were about five types of jams and fresh honeycomb. It had two special dishes designated as vegan or gluten free and an omelette cooking stand. Juices included fresh lemonade and grapefruit juice as well as orange juice and others. Hot tea and coffee were available.
Crowne does charge a deposit to cover their extensive mini-bar with charges debited at the start of your stay and returned, they said, 10 days after checkout. It doesn’t slow down checkout as the checks, for us, were carried out afterwards. I checked my statement afterwards and this charge was no longer there.

I stayed here after my partner . Had a stomach operation. Which I informed reception about . We were put in a room with no heating working . It was freezing 🥶. And a room with a bath with difficulty getting into for my partner. When I asked for a room with a shower instead of bath it fell on deaf ears . As when I complained about the heating . Then when we checked out at 330am . We said we can't have breakfast .can you take it off the bill . I was told no . I expected a 5 star hotel with 5 star service . This hotel is lovely inside . Bar staff were lovely. But no more plaza hotels again

We were enthralled by the look of the hotel which was huge in size but not so with the sizes of the rooms. We had quite a bit of issues with the WIFI connections over all the breakfast buffet was grand and the staff was very helpful & friendly, can't help but mention one staff namely Ms. Ezgi who made our stay so special she was more like family to us. Will not hesitate to go back to this hotel again. The location was so convenient making our travel so much easier. We love Istanbul :)

We had a great stay with 2 rooms next to each other. The hotel was clean and the location was great. Every single person we interacted with at the hotel was pleasantly gracious and accommodating from the front desk, housekeeping, concierge to the entire team the restaurant serving breakfast. Depends on traffic , it is more or less 65 Turkish Liras. Some of Taxis has accept credit card , some of them not accept it. If you want pay by credit card , they charged you commission around 5%.
