I have been going to this hotel for 3 times. It is a lovely environment, the staff are great and very caring. The spa and sauna are amazing. Very clean rooms and nice breakfast. I am definitely going back to this hotel when I come back to Istanbul.

Had a great long-weekend stay at the Ritz-Carlton Istanbul! The hotel is in a 1980s, all-glass office tower that is well-known but not the most elegant building in Istanbul. That said, it is amazing what they have done with the inside of the hotel. From the moment you step out of the car, you never know that you are in...

Hotel lives up to Ritz-Carlton reputation. Room was very large and luxurious. Service was outstanding and location was within walking distance to everything. We really enjoyed our stay. The only negative is the pricing: Breakfast Buffett was good, but not worth $42 per person. Same for drinks: Champagne cocktail for $50. In-room movie billed in Euro, but converted to outrageous...

Stayed 5 days for a meeting. The usual opulent Ritz-Carlton lobby, but a delightful twist of a hot milk type drink (sounds awful, but was delicious) intermittantly available in the lobby (not in frequently, they were completely out and none of the desk staff seemed interested in refilling it). But when available was totally welcome after walking all day in...

The concierges are fantastic , the breakfast 7 star (though champagne should be complimentary) and the views awesome. The bathrooms are really large and the bar is beautiful with fabulous views - lovely place to hang out before or after. The BEST thing is that the Tram stops only a 2-3 minute walk. Best way to travel in Istanbul with...

I stayed with a friend in the RC Istanbul for 5 nights at the end of March and we had a very nice stay. As a gold member in the Marriott reward system we got a corner room with Bosporus view which was amazing. But other than that it was clear that RC finds the Marriott gold members of a...

This was our little bit of heaven and the start of a memorable trip. The room was beyond luxurious and our floor to ceiling windows overlooking the Bosphorus and the city lights of Istanbul made it like a fairyland. The service was 5 star.

The hotel was nice but I think there are better locations in Istanbul. We had to take public transportation to get anywhere. The beds were comfortable. Really didn't like the cost of tea at the bar. I ordered a tiny Turkish Apple Tea and it cost me about $17. They give this stuff away for free in the lobby. I...

Beautiful hotel with first rate services and professional staff. Wonderful views, especially from the lounge bar area. Hotel room was first rate.......big rooms, beautiful bathroom. Best part of my stay was their dining area for breakfast. Best selections of everything. The only downside to this hotel is that it is far from everything and not the most walkable area unless...

We were an extended family group of 10 and spent three nights at the Ritz Carlton in Istanbul in March. The level of service was excellent and we enjoyed our stay. As others have mentioned, it is not near all the sites in the Old City but that wasn't a problem for us. We walked down the hill and caught...

Staying in Besiktas

Neighborhood Profile
Besiktas
In Besiktas, skyscrapers compete with palaces for space in an upscale vista replete with hilly green parkland filling in the margins. Step into this rather wealthy neighborhood and discover a rich mix of opportunities to shop, dine, and be entertained. For folks in search of urban buzz, not to mention a constant reminder of just how important Istanbul’s waterways are to its rich history, there's the frenetic Besiktas ferry terminal or the city’s most vibrant fish market to explore. For a timeout of metropolitan proportions, head to the bucolic Yildiz Park or the chic Bosphorus-side fishing village of Ortakoy. Attractions such as the grandiose Dolmabahce Palace and a bevy of other stately residences await admiration. To be sure, this large and not overly touristy swath of Istanbul yields plenty of pleasure for all.
