First and foremost the location of this boutique hotel is 2-20 min walking distance to all point of interest. It is situated right near Ayasofia and Sultan Ahmed mosque as well as Topkapi palace. Grand Bazar is 15-20 min walk as well. You can easily take a short tram ride over to the Taksim/Galata area as well. The rooms were... More

We had a delightful 5 day stay at this charming family run hotel. Quiet setting despite being near to all of the must see sites in the old city. Efficiently run by Memhet's team especially the front desk, the Hotel is a credit to him. Well equipped, best showers I've ever used in an hotel plus extensive breakfasts made our... More

A friend and I stayed at the Magnaura in April, it was chosen due to the location, price and wonderful reviews. We stayed 4 nights and could not have been treated any better. The staff was attentive, the rooms were lovely, and every morning there was a variety of local and standard breakfast items. The hotel does not allow children... More

While the property is a small one, it offers a good stay. Perfect, perfect for its location. Everything you want to see is either within walkable distance or accessible via the tram service. Has an elevator and a decent breakfast spread. It does not have a regular restaurant service, so you might want to look at other options during the... More

I loved everything about this hotel!!! Location - the BEST. Amidst the charming cobblestone streets of Sultanahmet, literally a stone throw away from the Blue Mosque and Aga Sophia. The tram is a 2 minute walk away Rooms - We chose the standard room. Whilst being a tad pokey it had everything we needed and was definitely value for money... More

Favourite hotel in Istanbul, one of the best I've ever stayed in. Bearing in mind I've been to Istanbul many times, and around the world many times over. We usually stay in the common 5* chains ie Hilton. I think the MP stands out for the following reasons. First, the level of service at the MP hands down beats any... More

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighborhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
