Amazing location in the middle of istiklal. The staff are very friendly. Big rooms and worth the money we payed. The noise isn't much of a problem. Breakfast could be much better, since most of the food is not so much delicious and we keep on seeing the same food every day. No variety.

My boyfriend and I stayed at taksim lounge for 7 days while in Istanbul. We stayed in a private room. The hostel was very clean - I am very fussy about shared bathrooms in hostels and if found myself very comfortable here. Prices were good in comparison to other (dirtier) hostels that we stayed in in Istanbul. On the 4th...

Staying in Beyoglu

Neighborhood Profile
Beyoglu
Istanbul’s most famous street, pedestrianized Istiklal Caddesi (Independence Avenue), throbs day and night and offers a fantastic array of architectural sights, shops, treats, and throngs upon teeming throngs of people. At the avenue’s northeastern end is expansive Taksim Square, thought by many to be the very heart of the city, with many of Turkey’s most renowned restaurants and some of Europe’s most happening nightlife in close proximity. In striking contrast, Beyoglu’s less trafficked areas – such as the affluent Cihangir and the antiques district of Cukurcuma – exude Old World charm and provide contemplative calm and splendid diversion via an assortment of cozy cafes, attractive boutiques, and quiet lanes.

“Cheap hostels in Istanbul (and especially around Taksim Sq.) tend to attract the party-hard crowd. It won't be very quiet, and people were coming and going for most of the night. We didn't really lose sleep over it, but it might bother others.”
