This hotel is very small, very loud, and very dirty. The staff did not speak any English, even though the website claimed they did. The man that checked us is was terribly, terribly rude. He mostly shrugged and grunted when asked questions.

I booked this hotel based on positive reviews. The only thing it has going for it is the location. I had request a double bed and received two singles, the room was dirty, there was no screen of any description on the shower so the entire bathroom had the potential to get wet, there was old soap in the bathroom....

Hassan welcomes you with a smile and is always ready to help you. The house is located 10 minutes drive from Sultanahmet, near the center of Taksim and highways if you want to visit around the city. This is a "Bed and Breakfeast" and not a B & B as we know in France. No special decoration, it is not...

This hotel is actually called As Hotel (as named outside the hotel itself). It is small. Accommodations are very basic (feels a bit like a youth hostel), but the location is wonderful for all who want to be at walking distance from the main sights in the old and new istanbul. This hotel is in the new part of istanbul....

Staying in Beyoglu

Neighborhood Profile
Beyoglu
Istanbul’s most famous street, pedestrianized Istiklal Caddesi (Independence Avenue), throbs day and night and offers a fantastic array of architectural sights, shops, treats, and throngs upon teeming throngs of people. At the avenue’s northeastern end is expansive Taksim Square, thought by many to be the very heart of the city, with many of Turkey’s most renowned restaurants and some of Europe’s most happening nightlife in close proximity. In striking contrast, Beyoglu’s less trafficked areas – such as the affluent Cihangir and the antiques district of Cukurcuma – exude Old World charm and provide contemplative calm and splendid diversion via an assortment of cozy cafes, attractive boutiques, and quiet lanes.
