A good, clean, comfortable hotel. Friendly, helpful, smiling staff. Great position, in the old town; minutes from Topkapi, Sophia, Blue Mosque, Cistern, restaurants, trams etc. Our room was spacious with a double and single bed. Cooking and clothes washing facilities are in the room (though not all fully equipped; a word to the staff would quickly resolve this) Aircon in... More

We booked this for our arrival in Turkey so that we could get our bearings before travelling on. We were delighted to find it was right in the centre of the Old City. The owner/managers were very friendly and the room was basic but neat. It included a few extras like a washing machine and sink which was useful. We... More

Fantastic hotel, wonderful staff, couldn't do enough for us, especially when my husband and i were both sick at the same time. They couldn't do enough for us. The hotel had the perfect location, close to everything. But still nice and quiet. We would recommend this hotel to any age group. Thank you all so much . Great budget hotel.... More

I only have good things to say about Adrien. The owner himself, Machallah, is very very helpful and concerned about the wellness of the guests. The other staff is no less, they made us really feel at home, all the time. The hotel is very well located right in the heart of the touristic attractions, but in a very quiet... More

Room was spacious, clean and well-maintained. Simple amenities but availability of washing machine in every room is definitely a plus point (we brought our own detergent). Exceeded our expectations of a budget-friendly hotel, and could comfortably take in all 4 of us (parents + 2 older kids). Fantastic location in the Sultanahmet area with a nice rooftop restaurant and good... More

They went out of their way to help us out when some of our party were ill, arranged appointment with a Dr and even sent staff with them to help and amazingly even lent cash to ensure they had enough local currency to pay Dr!!!!! Brilliant location 2 minutes walk from Hagia Sophia. If you are useless in the morning like us, staying in this hotel is perfect as you can actually arrive at Sophia or Topkapi or the Basilica Cistern before the crowds. What is also fantastic is to visit one of the sights early then go back to the room for a rest,... More

Close to all major attraction such as Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque & Basilica Sistern. The room is compact with a washing machine and stove. Sometimes the elevator doesn't work but still not that bad. Staff were always helpful and smiling all the time. The owner was always around to greet us in the morning during breakfast.

5 mins walk to Hagia sophia and Basilica Cistern and about 15 min walk to the Grand bazaar. Perfect!! Basic room with stove, mini fridge, we had a perfect view of the hagia sophia from the bay window. I would recommend this hotel if you are on a budget and not fussy with little details.

Easy transportation from AirPort (Atatürk) just use two metros and you are at the hotel. Aproximately 30 minutes. Every room has a Washing machine. All the main atractions are at the walking distance. You can easily access to the boats to the asian side. Friendly staff. Cons: Elevator is so small

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighborhood Profile
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.

“Rooms at the back are quieter than the front, but having said that, there wasn't an awful lot of street noise anyway at night. 'Call to prayer' at 6.40 am is quite interesting though :-)”

“Take the room with front street view, although they are smaller than the other side, they are wonderful to just peep out and enjoy the numerous visitors that pass by dayin and out. All rooms are quite noise-free, and the windows are double glazed so no disturbance.”
