Neorion Hotel emerges as a beacon of comfort and convenience in the eyes of many guests, who appreciate its clean and well-appointed rooms, despite some finding them slightly compact and in need of modernization. The hotel's atmosphere is frequently described as stylish and inviting, with an ambiance that resonates with travelers. The rooftop restaurant, offering panoramic views, along with a spa and pool, stands out among its amenities. Although opinions on value vary, the consensus leans towards a good price-quality ratio. Service at Neorion is often highlighted as exceptional, with staff members commended for their dedication to guest satisfaction. Its prime location garners praise for easy access to attractions and transport, yet it is worth noting the potential for noise. Overall cleanliness is a point of pride for the hotel, with meticulous attention to both rooms and public spaces.

We wrapped up our most memorable trip to Turkey in Istanbul and our 4-night stay at the Neorion made our time in Istanbul very special. As first time visitors to Istanbul we picked the Neorion for its prime location in the Sultanahmet neighborhood. All the major sights the world comes to Istanbul for are in close proximity to the hotel. Sultanahmet can be very touristy and hectic for a first-time visitor but the Neorion is an absolute oasis once you are back at the property after a busy day of exploring and sightseeing. The staff at the Neorion were extremely courteous and went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. Almost all of the key sights and transportation options are within walking distance. I highly recommend that you try the restaurant on the rooftop (requires a reservation) for its great food and wonderful views of the Bosphorous and the magical city skyline. We had an early departure to Amsterdam on our final day and without any prompting the staff at reception organized breakfast boxes and also arranged a very good taxi for us. The Neorion will be my preferred place of stay during my future trips to Istanbul.

In summary, these are the key aspects that calls for a 5* rating for the Neorion:

- Location - can't be beat!
- Wonderful breakfast! Mehmet and the entire team at the breakfast location are awesome!
- Extremely hospitable staff. The staff at reception, breakfast and the restaurant were great
- Clean and quiet. A veritable oasis in a busy area
- Very comfortable, good size room
- The best housekeeper ever! It is too bad that I can't recall our housekeeper's name but she maintained our room so well, produced some incredible towel art and always made sure we had enough Turkish Delight!
- Great value!

Staff:
As most other reviewers point out, the staff are fantastic and so warm and welcoming. We had many questions and they always did their best to help and offer extremely helpful information. One time when I was just asking for directions, Merk even just walked a block with me and showed me the exact street and directions to go.
They also give a plate of Turkish delights everyday (which we loved), and a bottle of wine on arrival.

Location:
Very convenient. Walking distance to most of the major attractions and also the tram station is just a short walk away. Very easy to get to the major sites.
Lots of restaurants nearby.

Room:
We got the Superior room which has a balcony. Room is on the 6th floor. You can see the Suleymaniye Mosque, but note that your view is really across a whole bunch of old houses. The room is bright and airy so we really liked that.
The room size IMHO is a bit small for the price (you do have to pay extra for the Superior room), and the furnitures are a bit basic and also a bit dated.
We didn't hear any street noises, other than the prayers (which woke us up one night at 4am). They do provide ear plugs on the bedside table.

Rooftop restaurant:
Loved it! Fantastic 360 degree view around, beautiful sunset, and excellent food. However, if you get a table in the terrace area, the music can be quite loud.

Breakfast:
Good selections but pretty similar everyday, with cold meat, hot selections, cereal, pastry/bread etc. I love the raw honey that you can cut by yourself, the simit, and the little pancakes that you can eat with nutella.

Overall we had a great stay. Special shoutout again to the staff and the service!

Farid at the front desk was extremely accommodating! We had a last minute change of plans and Farid connected with me on Whatsapp to perfectly adjust our stay. I am so grateful for this 🙏

The hotel itself was spacious and clean. We had a large room that allowed us to comfortably fit 2 adults and 2 kids on separate cots. The location is not too far from nearby commuter rail stations that quickly and affordably took us to the major attractions. With a small discount, the average price of our round trip transfer from the airport was comparable to other options.

Breakfast was VERY good. Loved the variety as the options changed every day. I felt like the waiting staff was helpful, but not imposing. I didn't expect "service" at self-cater breakfast.

Overall, we had a wonderful experience at Neorion Hotel!

Our recent stay at Neorion Hotel in Istanbul exceeded all expectations. The location is truly unbeatable, making it easy to explore the city's vibrant attractions on foot or by tram. What really stood out was the accommodating nature of the staff—they went above and beyond to ensure our comfort, paying close attention to detail in every aspect of our stay.

This hotel is incredibly family-friendly, providing a warm and welcoming environment for both adults and children. The superior staff always had a smile and were ready to assist with any request.

To top it all off, the delicious breakfast offered a variety of options, catering to all tastes and leaving us ready for a day of adventure. We would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Istanbul, especially those traveling with family.

We have just had three very good nights at this excellent hotel which is really well located for all the major sights, such that apart from a Bosphorus boat trip, we walked everywhere. That said, tram access was virtually on the doorstep. The hotel is extremely clean, the beds comfortable with good quality linen and quiet at night. The room was very comfortable and of a good size and full toiletries ( including hair conditioner, slippers and scrub) provided. Complimentary earplugs were left but not needed. Tea and coffee making facilities, complimentary water and soft drinks and a good selection of hot and cold food at breakfast as well. The staff are excellent receptive hosts. We booked direct and saved money and had our comfortable transfers to the hotel and back to the airport organised for us at a most competitive rate. Overall excellent value for money and we would return.

We stayed at the Neorion for four days at the end of March (Ramadan) with two adults and were delighted. The friendliness and helpfulness of all the staff is particularly noteworthy. I travel a lot and have never experienced anything of this quality. It starts with the welcome and continues every day. All questions or topics were answered in an extremely friendly manner, and lots of information and help was given.
The location of the hotel is excellent, you can walk to Hagia Sofia and the Blue Mosque in 10-15 minutes. The ferries are also very easy to reach. With the Istanbul Card you can get anywhere by public transport.
From IST airport it takes about an hour to get to the hotel by shuttle. If you take public transport back (via Metro M2 and the new M11 line to the airport) you should be a good walker and plan at least 90-100 minutes.
Our room 309 was small but nice and very tastefully decorated. Everything was very clean and provided with free water. Our room faced the 'lively' main street, but there are also 'quieter' rooms. It wasn't a problem for us.
Two modern elevators take guests up to the 6th floor.
Tip: on the roof is the excellent restaurant 'Roof Mezze 360' (I have reviewed it separately) with great cuisine and extremely good service.
Breakfast is offered from 7 a.m. and leaves nothing to be desired.
Mehmet and his great team bring the drinks of your choice directly to your table and are 'very warm people'.
As a guest, you are served free drinks in the lobby all day long, great service.
In the basement there is a small spa area that you can use free of charge until 10 p.m. If you want, you can book a massage for a fee.
Conclusion: Great people characterize this hotel. The management can be extremely proud of this team. 'The' recommendation for a stay in Istanbul with an exceptional price/performance ratio.
We're definitely recommending this place!

We stayed 5 nights at the Neorion Hotel. We had 2 rooms in the 6th floor.
The hotel arranged to pick us up at the airport (we were 5) and it was only 20 euros which was an excellent price for airport pickup in Istanbul, if you take into account that the airport is like 45 kms away from the hotel.
The rooms were nice, with nice views of the city.
Breakfast in the hotel is not in the rooftop terrace but on the lobby floor. The selection at breakfast was excellent. Everything you could imagine was available. Maybe the only thing that was lacking was the capucchino which we did not like.

The restaurant on the top flor was a great choice for dinner on the night that we arrived, so much that we went back on our last day.

The service was very good, the rooms were clean, the location was perfect (if you want to stay in the "old" part of town) and most of the most important attractions were less than 800 meters away from the hotel. So you could not ask for more location wise. Of course the new part of the city is farther away.

The staff at the reception was very attentive and helpful. We checked out at 6:30 AM and at that time the breakfast buffet was not ready, but they had prepared for us sandwiches and bottles of water for us to take with us to the airport which was a very nice touch.

We enjoyed our stay and if we go back to istanbul this hotel will be our first choice.

A lovely little boutique hotel. The staff were extremely helpful at all times. The advantages of a small hotel were staff getting to know you and providing consistency of service. Drinks are always available in the lobby. Beautiful dish of Turkish delight in the room on arrival and topped up each day. I especially liked the note introducing housekeeping and she was always ready and willing to help

We had a training room which was well provided for and the staff were always available to help.

Lovely breakfast buffet, which was fresh and varied. The lunch we had was a good variety and accommodated various dietary requirements.

Small pool, sauna, and hydro therapy pool under the hotel and a very good masseuse

Roof top restaurant with great views out across the city and to the Bosphorus. Best food we had all week.

Only downside is that the location is very central and can be noisy

I recently stayed at this hotel with my family during our short trip to Istanbul. Its location in old town Sultanahmet is perfect since it's a short walk away to all the tourist sites, tram line, shops and restaurants. Since we have 2 kids, we got a family room, which is basically two connected rooms. One of the rooms also had a small balcony through which we enjoyed watching people on the busy street below. The hotel staff were friendly, especially the hotel manager Mert who we enjoyed talking with during our stay. They went the extra mile to take care of us by making us feel comfortable and were always available to answer any questions. We enjoyed their breakfast buffet in the mornings along with the cups of Turkish tea they offered throughout the day. The hotel also helped organize our pickup from the airport, which was very helpful.

I would love to come back and stay at Neorion again. My family loved Istanbul and have many wonderful memories from our trip.

We stayed here for 3 nights and had a mostly great experience. The location is perfect for walking to sights, restaurants, and shops. The staff were fantastic and so nice. Breakfast was very good, too. I also liked the relatively small size of the hotel. I highly recommend the rooftop restaurant, too!

The reasons for the 4/5 rating are: 1) the pool is smallish and what looks like a jacuzzi has jets but the water isn’t particularly warm; and 2) payment was a big pain. They give you 10% discount if you pay by cash on arrival, but they also make it really difficult to pay by card. We unexpectedly ran low on cash before we got there, so we figured we’d pay by card since the ATM fees would eat up a lot of the discount for cash anyway. But somehow they couldn’t get it to go through. Absolutely not an issue with our card, in fact we made a bigger purchase with our card during the trip with no problem. On our last morning, we finally just went to an ATM for the cash and then they told us it was too late for the 10% discount even though they were the ones who made it impossible for us to pay by card. Luckily they realized the ridiculousness of that and gave us the discount. So, if you stay here, be sure to have cash for payment and don’t assume you can easily use a card instead.

Sorry, I did not make the access to Trip Advisor for long time and I did not read your question. Roof Mezze 360 can be accessed from the Seres Hotel. But also from the Neorionìs staircase if you are guest there. It is a very good restaurant!

Hello, I paid 35 euro taking a cab that had a stand inside the airport, just before the exit. For the return don't use the hotels transport (40 euro), there is a possibility to take a shuttle, just down the street from the hotel, that will cost only 8 euros.

Hi, I would say that depends what time and what day you are arriving as traffic to Sultanahmet can be very bad. In October last year the hotel offered a special price transfer of 20 euro one way. We used it from Sabiha Gocken however we were stuck in the traffic for 2,5 hrs (Friday afternoon) If you prefer a taxi it is a good value offer so perhaps worth checking if they still do it. On the other hand we were flying back home from the new Istanbul airport and we took a bus during rush hours . This took less than an hour as it quite quickly got out of the city. Personally I would recommend taking a bus. It’s cheap, comfortable and gets you right into the heart of Sultanahmet , as AJ P said it is a 10 min walk to Neorion , maybe 15 with suitcases. Hope this helps and have a great time!
